Hi I'm looking to raid0 my two 160GB drives. Is it possible to create a full and scheduled backup of a raid install?
Whats the best program or way of doing it and what kind of room would it require? Once I have all my games and junk installed its about 100GB used.

Or would it be better to use raid1 so theres no worry of loosing everything if theres a fault/error?

Cheers,

Well, unless you fancy investing in a backup tape drive (££££) you could use an imaging Application, such as Acronis TrueImage and backup an image of the volume to another disk on a regular basis.

Raid 1 will have more benefits for a backup though, instant recovery/fallover and happens on the fly, so no scheduled backups. You just lose half of your disk space though.

Cheap large USB/Firewire HDD & use Windows backup, or use Imaging software as stated above.

Do not, however, use RAID1 and think all will be OK - you need backups as well.

If you files aren't too massive just use a couple of DVD9's and archive away (this is what I do) or get a Mac and use Time Machine! :p :D

yea I heard of these floppy disk things, cant find much on google - are they some new high capacity form of dvd? like better then blu-ray??
