Agreed on Win7. My install is 2 years old and still runs like a charm. See no reason to change to Win8.

Only 2 years? Mine is from 2009 when it came out :p

That install has seen several HDD upgrades and mobos. Still going strong.
 
Ive moved from win7 to win8 and thought id replace those ugly gadgets with a nice rainmeter theme to go with the clean OS :)

Ive modified the "Elegance2" theme for my own use. Ive used a HWiNFO plugin so that I can get cpu temp, gpu core temp and vrm temps on the desktop wihtout having to run a different program for each

Ive also just moved to a 1440p monitor. Ive gotten rid of the taskbar as programs can be launched from the windows key metro

Overall its the best my desktop has looked for years :D

I got the album cover from Google and used content aware in Photoshop to get it to the size I wanted. Could try for 1080p if you like but the bigger it gets, the worse the quality seems to be (you can see in the top left of mine that it's a bit dodgy).

Damnit, my desktop used to look beautiful, but I haven't bothered doing anything with it this install. :p
