1280 wide is the rule, check the main forum rules regarding images.
images must be no wider than 1280 pixels wide. The only exception to this are images posted in
tags.

People post 1920x1080 images in the screenshot thread in PC Games subsection so obviously that rule is either outdated or not universally applicable. Not that it matters in this instance as I edited anyway.
Because the rules allow for it in the PC Game subsection if memory serves
