I love wallbase.net although they don't have a category per say, I could easily spend an hour browsing through many thousands of images on that site. Give it a try.
You could also have a look at interfacelift.com. They have some awesome scenery type walls.

Sorry. I dont hink it matters too much though, as you can always control+scroll to see the whole thing, and if you see it full size you get the felling of how big the desktop really is!
Also, you probably wouldn't be able to see anything on hte screen like hte taskbar or any menu bars
