I almost always use a picture that I've taken myself, this is the current one, it's a picture of, errrm me, that I took.

My other screen/ currently plugged in to laptop is too covered in icons to bother with a background, and I never minimise my windows anyway :P.

i would imagine you would need to be more specific in what you want.
on my desktop im using rocket dock at the bottom, its very easy to setup just install then drag your shortcuts into in, a quick google will show how to change icons and there are plenty to choose from online.

for the usage, temp and weather im using rainmeter, its slightly harder to setup but again google is your friend and plenty of guides can be found and are easy to follow.

I can send the wallpaper if anyone needs it(although I think google, Hulk 1920x1200, would suffice! Rainmeter, with various skins off of deviant art.
