Well said. I wonder how the Bristol actually performs on a track up against its competitors.

Like a camel on an ice rink, and it would be just as out of place. Talk about missing the point. I doubt Bristol cars care one bit what any of us think of them, they sell as many as they want to, there's a waiting list and buyers are vetted by the company principal. Myself, I'd try one out before denouncing them.

Look what you get with it :D

Sounds like the whole car is based on this kind of marketing, to the point where it doesn't matter how crap the car is, the circle jerk of buying one for the deluded purchaser is enough.

This is the point. They don't market, they make no claims yet there's a queue.

Seems to have worked for them ;)
I think you're totally missing the point of the car. It's not about the marketing, the owners choose these vehicles and stick by them. At these prices it takes more than 'my mate reckons it's good' to maintain ownership. These cars have qualities that you and me may not appreciate but others buy into. You buy a Bristol because you appreciate the car, not because someone else does or some ad reckons they're cool.

Only morons buy cars this way.
It applies equally to Porsche, Ferrari etc. How can people be judged morons for spending their money on cars they enjoy?

You may consider it moronic but it's narrow minded to presume other peoples criteria when spending their money.
