Hey all,

A disappointing update, I waited in all day yesterday, even staying up till 12 in vain hope but my panels didn't arrive.
I think I hate UPS......
I'm unsure as to when panels are coming as UPS say "delivery information is not available at this time" now, and I can't take more days off (I only have so many )

This weekend might be photography practice again,
Might buy sleeving next week, need to weigh up the cost.

So, over a week later and my panels are here......nearly
They were delivered to my next door neighbour in my absence, and I don't know when they'll be home.

But this weekend is looking hopeful for a significant update

They are finally here, and I am so glad I went with the lads at Parvum because they are B-E-A-UTIFUL!

Like silk to the touch, love it (I am far too excited right now people )

Right everyone, it's a bit of an annoying update, As I couldn't get everything I wanted done.

Valentines and all.
I did make a beasting cake




So I don't know how much you want in terms of commentary, but I'll try and give some labling to the picture log

Yeah, I really considered going elsewhere.
I've got that ugly hole where I'm missing a rad
I'll buy it eventually, but I've spend my budget already and I have enough to power it

I need to look into sleeving atm
also some other thing and finish the panels

Just realised, I need to drill a few more holes in the mobo tray....

So I did some work last night.
Re drilled the mobo tray, it now has sunken holes for the back of the yellow plate's screw heads to go in, so it lies better against the black acrylic.

I also attached my *special* PCI bracket.
Mounted the pump
screwed the fittings in
Realised I'm missing a fitting
tubed up the pump
tube was wrong length so tubed it again
not 100% happy with it so may tube it AGAIN
bought more tubing and the missing fitting today

All of this I took pictures of
pictures on the SD card->in my camera->in my camera bag-> under my desk And of no use to ANYONE!!


So, another update tonight I think When I've done some more

My radiators arrived at home today but I can't see them till later as I'm at work boo hoo

aaah yes, the 'sitting in work with goodies"
at least with OCUK you have haribo to eat, but no luck for you I suppose.

I'm going to attack the bending tonight......I'm a bit scared TBH, I only have one bit of tubing long enough for the Pump-> first rad run, and the pump is....maneuverable
I might glue the foam down...might screw it, but that's drilling etc etc that I'd rather not do

Hey mate are those standoffs plastic? Did you buy them somewhere?

Really liking the progress, the board looks great mounted on the plate.

Yes they are plastic, they are threaded on both sides and there's a screw holding it in. Thats why I needed to redo the mobo tray to add holes for the screwheads to sit in.
If you still want to know the shop let me know and I'll dig it out.



So, so so so.
A mix of good and bad, I am all full of bad, but I was looking forward to getting this done.

Before the disappointment, here's some pics

Cool feature of this case is any side can be removed leaving the rest intact:


This was to allow me access to the Mobo:



I decided to put all the fittings in:




Then my *special* PCI 'bracket':




These will be trimmed down later, and a couple of nuts will hold the GPU in place at the top.

Now for some BENDING:


Now here comes the disaster.....Heatgun is all European plug
My only eu->GB plug converter is for a shaver and fuse cannot take a heatgun, nor can a bigger fuse fit.....

Not to let that deter me, I went to the kitchen and used the hob

First 90 Degree:


Pfft, who needs a heatgun!!
wimps!!

then the real disaster struck.....
I was using the monsoon pipe cutter do-dad....and I can only go with "I'm a bit of a muppet" because I only went and cut through the bloody metal:






I'm not overly ****ed off at breaking the guide, but I've gone and cut the tube wonky now

I can "Probably" fix it with sandpaper, and I have more tube:


But to be honest, that's me for today
missing fitting arriving tomorrow, I'll grab my sandpaper and a new plug, and go for a fresh start tomorrow.

I used an electric hob, probably not as good, but worked....
I'll just have to be more careful with guides, and get some sandpaper

Every day I get closer..... I think

There were then more failures....
I'm not gonna lie, it wasn't pretty......
From now on, my advice to people is buy twice the hardtubing you think you need

Here's how I've left it:



Do not fear, that pipe on the right just needs cleaned as it's full of plastic from reaming

now I have one bend left (and might re-do some) it's the run from the pump up to the top right rad....I think I need to give myself time to think about it... I only have one piece of pipe long enough so need it to go well

The rest will be soft tubing till I get the last rad.

Looking great, shame the bending didnt go to well im worried about that next hope you get the last rad soon, they are still not in stock tho

Meh, it's only tube, as long as ocuk stocks it I can always buy more

Last rad might come quite a bit later, cables, fan controller etc. I have enough rad space to drive everything in the system atm, technically it's already slightly overkill

Nice to see the build to go with the panels. Great stuff!

Right, so another 'no picture' update I'm afraid
It was late when I finished and went straight to bed rather than posting/uploading pictures.

I re-bent the tube I was unhappy with, Am now happy with it.

I tried to do the epic run from pump->rad and encountered a problem. The silicone insert is not long enough to reach where I need to bend :/
Not sure what to do here....Try and find a longer insert? or change the routing to use a different route?
I'll post some horrific paint mockups later if I have time.

I decided to tube up the rest of the cpu loop with soft tube to leak test the hardline.....
...It leaked
ho ho ho what fun this is
It just dripping out of the straightest and easiest piece.....and I have no clue why
I'l need to get it apart, look at it, maybe it needs re-glued/the glue didn't cover the whole sleeve.
The loops draining for now, I need to solve this long pipe issue

Update update

Water cooling was worse than I thought....more leaks.

All now fixed *crosses fingers*
Down to a lack of glue on the collars *face palm*

I re-did the tube I didn't like:

Tubed it up with flexy, so I can keep my current rig up with gpu till fittings come monday(I hope ocuk)

It's not bad luck, it's an adventure
It's fine, I've a tenancy to rush things, the monsoon kit has the stuff to nail the mandrels to a board, would make it much easier to plan it all out better first.

The glue is a monsoon thing. No other fittings have it as far as I know. There's a wee via if you Google "monsoon hard-line fittings"
I have to say I'm not the biggest fan of them at, but never used any other hardliners, so it might just be me

Ah ok hope the rest goes well and you get that last radiator it will look sick technically 2 x 480s

As for fittings im gonna be using the primochill revolvers in black........ when they come back in stock.......... omg...... still waiting........ZZZZzzz

I like the look of the primochill, I rocked between the two for a while.
yeah, waiting for stock's no fun

That last rad will probably be a while off tbh....I'll get it all running, might go as far as getting all the extra peripheral stuff before I get it.. I dunno really.


Right now, I'm burnt out on money this month, I'm getting pressured for getting the holidays this year booked, Vienna..... sounds expensive

Here we go then!

So I got my fittings I needed, and some more acrylic tubing (I'll always need more )

First off, I got a shiny bitspower fitting to split the pump->top right rad run up.

This is due to it being so long that the insert wouldn't fit so I opted to make it a bit easier, and buy a bitspower fitting (I've always wanted one )

Unfortunately I need different tubing for that run, so it's planned I'll put it in when I've got the last rad, as I'll be draining then anyway.

Onwards!
