Anyone watch this? It's on iPlayer if you haven't!

It's quite interesting and funny. I watched it out of boredom and I can't wait for the next episode as Nev just reminds me of David Brent!

I watched with horror. Fair play I suppose, getting a bunch of young twenty-somethings to sell stuff via cold calling must be difficult and the way they lap it up suggests it works. I've always thought that the shift supervisors in call centres are the absolute scum of the earth though, this program maintained that opinion.

Ricky Gervais tweeted on the comparison between Nev and David Brent.

Thought it was hilarious and awesome probably because I've worked in a call centre and the fact I'm Welsh so them just being proper stereotypical south Walian just makes it even better .

+1. I couldn't watch the horrible, life-sapping morons past ten minutes.

Kept me entertained suprisingly well during a nightshift this week. I thought it was hilarious, actually. And a bit cringy.

Nev seems like an annoying, but thoroughly decent guy. Agreed about the middle management though, total scumbags!

Nev is very much a real life David Brent / Michael Scott character.

I agree on the Supervisors point, when they were winding up that Hayley girl, they seemed oblivious to the fact that they were actually upsetting her and it wasn't really on anymore. Her actual Line Manager came across as pretty weak when attempting to deal with them and resolving the issue.

Yea he just stood there looking like he was about to get bullied himself.

My word...just watched the first 10 mins so far and jeez. I work in a call centre but its a hundred times better than that place.

Lol at the part "do you put out on a first date"..."hahahaha...yeah" lmao

Its a documentary, reality style, but not the fully fabricated type, such as Made in Chelsea, The Only Way is Essex etc.

Having looked into it a bit more, its not mentioned in the documentary, but the company is called Save Britain Money. It actually came second in this year's Sunday Times Best Companies to work for, so thats pretty impressive.

The only caveat I'd add is that remember its a documentary, so true reality is always going to be skewed. Nev is probably a lot like that, but he is bound to play up to the cameras even more so. For example, maybe he doesn't usually drag a single employee around the office setting up dates for a camera crew.

It makes sense though.
It must be pretty soul destroying making cold calls all day and being abused, but with 700 staff, mostly of a young age, having active motivation and rewards is bound to make a better work environment.

I found it an hilarious watch. It was what The Office should have been (actually funny). Sometimes I feel like the only one in Britain who thought The Office was terrible. This show, although a documentary, was hysterical in parts.

That guy he interview: 'so, can you do this jb?', 'err....I dunno....'

Roll on episode 2.

Well you're not. ;)

I watched this & cringed most of the way through it but still found it a good watch.
I don't think I can slate Nev for the way he is as it's one of those take it or leave it situations. Seeing the people on the other end of these phone calls & what they are like is Hilarious & the Managers are exactly how I expected them to be complete *******. :p

Just watched the first 20 minutes or so of this and after having worked in a call centre (many years ago) I can safely say there's no way I'd last a day in there!

I'm guessing it's more of a customer management style environment than an incoming call centre (meaning they'll accept all the contracts under the sun from various companies to make outbound sales calls so XYZ company doesn't have to employ the sales staff) where the "Ceo" Nev Wilshire attempts to rule with his extremely annoying and rather unprofessional management style while trying to "connect" (and failing miserably) with the younger generation who wandered through the door clearly not knowing what to expect!

//Edit - Apologies I'm unable to relate this to The Office and David Brent as many others in this thread already have. I admit I've never actually watched an episode of the office as I can't stand Ricky Gervais and find him about as funny as a dose of the trots

I watched this last night on 3 for the first time (new series probably)
shocking behaviour from that boss. really unprofessional
there is time for banter and light heartedness, but throwing sweets at people and teasing because of being ginger with a stutter
I expect a lot of its acting up to the cameras too. I would hate to work in that place for more than a month
