I've had some XXL drying towels over the years, but never a purple monster edgeless one, really quite unique in plushness and feel. I have a feeling this is going to dry the car much better than the [previous ones I've had due to how thick it is. Wringing it will be very easy as well.

Also picked up a Cquartz wool washmit, the old Megs one started moulting...

Spent the day washing, decontaminating, claying, then applying a sealant by the name of "Gyeon Quartz Q2 Prime". Takes a while to apply, and you can feel that the surface is "stickier" when you are trying to buff it off in the two minutes following the application. Second stage of "curing" it with it's hydrophobic sealant is particularly quick and easy, and leaves the finish reminiscent of that of a freshly clayed paint (smooth, no cling to the cloth). Ended up like this:

Yes it was a "kit" in the sense that it came with the "liquid" the "sealant/curing spray", the applicator pad and mini-cloths for applicator. You still need a good number of clean (new) microfibre cloths to go with it, I think I used 4 cloths in total (a couple for buffing off the liquid, and a couple for applying and buffing the sealant/cure).

Took around 5 hours from start to finish, but 3 of those were waiting to apply the "cure" (as per the instructions). But it's "easy", at least as easy as applying a decent wax, also not too dissimilar to using something like Auto Glym Extra Gloss Protection.

During the application yes rain wouldn't be a good thing, at all. Now it's on and the curing ans been applied, it shouldn't really matter (as the whole coating is hydrophobic).

I've switched from the car pro mitt to the Gtechniq WM2 (though the Gyeon Q2M Smoothie is slightly thicker).

Obviously doesn't have the inherent issues of wool tangling / eventually moulting. Plus the internal sponge holds a silly amount of water whilst cleaning.

Just throwing my 2p in. Have tried various snow foams, traffic film removes, pre-washes etc over the years, most of them either too finicky to warrant the thought or ineffective.

Today I tried autobrites magifoam. And christ its amazing. Set the lance to create a very thick foam, left it on for 20-25 minutes and pressure washed off.

Apart from the heaviest of dirt, it shifted everything else to just needing a 2 minute wipedown with some microfibers.
