Which one out of these 2 would you pick both the 8/256gb 12.1 versions.

Honor 10 pad - £249
Poco Pad - £190 (but out of stock)

I was being pulled towards the honor which has 6 years of OS updates and 7 years security updates. I have a poco x3 phone so I know about the OS on the poco even though I am running crdroid 12 on it at this time.

Remembering when I got the poco it was all the adds that got on my nerves hence me changing to crdroid, so I don't want to be put off with all the adds once again another reason I'm being pushed towards the honour.

Go for the The Honor Pad 10
  • The Honor Pad 10 reportedly has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3. This is a newer and more powerful chip than the 7s Gen 2 in the Poco Pad.
  • Honor's MagicOS, which is based on Android, has a reputation for being much cleaner than Xiaomi's OS. While some bloatware might exist, it's generally a much more minimal and ad-free experience.
  • 6 years of OS updates and 7 years security updates.
  • Battery: Slightly larger battery and charging
  • Audio: 6 speakers with Spatial Audio (superior) instead of 4 speakers with Dolby Atmos
  • Build: premium metal unibody design. It is also slightly thinner and lighter than the Poco Pad

DO NOT buy the Honor!!! Or anything by Honor for that matter.

I bought the Pad 9 a few months ago for a family member as there was a good deal on the Honor site.

After about 2.5 weeks of general use - it completely died. 2.5 weeks!!! Wouldn't charge, wouldn't turn on the screen, nothing. Completely dead. I thought it would be a simple thing to get a replacement or refund... How wrong was I.

Spoke to them on the phone, sent them emails, and all they kept telling me was 'its gone past 2 weeks so you are not eligible for a refund'. I told them that's BS, the CRA states you have 30 days to reject faulty goods, but they couldn't understand that. It took many emails back and forth, with them first offering to 'investigate' the fault if I sent it back, then they would decide whether I would be eligible for a refund or not. I told them to stuff that, it's not a question of whether I'm eligible or not, so I demanded the refund, and had to threaten to report them to Trading Standards etc or worse as they are breaking UK consumer law.

It was only after a few weeks of this back and forth where they finally agreed to give me an RMA number for a full refund.

Worst company I've ever dealt with and their product is a complete joke.

Much better option - buy a nice Samsung from the Members Market, that's what I did, got a S7+ and S8 Ultra for bargain prices, use them every day, 1000 times better than the Honor trash.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't want a Samsung my last 2 tablets have been Samsung and both have had problems with the USB ports both had to be replaced between 10/16 months. I got some years out of them but fancy a change.

Will wait a bit longer before I make my mind up.
