Is anyone else fascinated by this car? I'm not saying it's gorgeous, but it is interesting. Maybe because it was so far ahead of its time when it was launched (1955 I think), or because it featured in films like Day of the Jackal and the Prisoner series.

Anyway, I want one. So there :p

Hi there

Advanced for its time maybe but I think it looks but ugly but I still would not say no to having a ride in one as old cars are cool. :)

I was *so* looking forward to a round of 'diss the rusty heap' but then you posted the DS :(

The DS is *awesome* so far ahead of its time in every single way, such a fantastic car. The DS pioneered the suspension system that made my Xantia so great.

Absolutely superb cars; a perfect meld of art deco styling, ingenuity and French Car Manufacturer sheer bonkersness.

Anyway, I want one. So there :p

Get one then :D

Is this the thing with the headlights that turn with the steering wheel?

Yup - and self levelling hydraulic suspension which I believe saved Charles De Gaulles life when, after a failed assassination attempt, the car drove for some distance perfectly on 3 wheels.

Ironic how cornering lights are being touted as the new thing to have by todays manufacturers.

I was gonna mention 'air' suspension but I thought id get laughed at :p

Has electric windows and all doesnt it

The DS is one of the all-time great cars....as others have said, it was so far ahead of it's tie that it's funny to see manufacturers today just about catching up with it :)

Oh Citroen, where did it all go wrong for you? How did we get from the DS to the sodding Saxo?

Its interesting in a luxobarge kind of way, a car to take the family to the beach in or something. King of novelty cars.

What about citroens supercar from when they owned maserati I think it was..
