Anyone seen this?
If you liked Making a Murderer then this should be on your to watch list..
SO much corruption in the court system in the states, guy gets sent to prison on the weight of his confession despite no other evidence being tested, video of his taped confession is shown in court, clearly from a hidden camera without the knowledge of the guy.
DNA tests are later done on the other evidence, no DNA ties him to the murder, hairs don't match, blood doesn't match, he has an alibi..
He then sits in prison for an additional 3 years waiting for the courts to confirm the overturn.
Then, once released he is put under house arrest for 2 years while the state pushes through a conviction for manslaughter, he then pleads guilty to this and is let off with "Time served".
In short, as I see it, he's coerced to confess, spends a chunk of time in jail for something he didn't do, then the state wraps him in tape and essentially stops him from living his life and pretty much blackmails him into pleading guilty so he then cant sue the state for wrongful imprisonment, sounds really familiar when you have seen Making a Murderer... "We'll get you, evidence be damned, but if you get out we'll get you on something else to stop you getting us"...
