I see no thread on this outside of what you're currently reading!
So, trying not to post spoilers, who's delving into this universe?
I'm currently reading Wind and Truth after finishing Mistborn Era 2 and The Sunlit Man... First 10% is feeling very slow but there's a lot to tie up after Rhythm of War.

So, who else is a Sanderson fan, where are you in the books, mysteries that are unfolded etc etc...

I believe Era 1 of Mistborn is also about to enter the TV world...

I was a fan until Wind and Truth… I’ll say no more till you’ve finished it!

The early books are great - very imaginative and fun. However, I feel the Cosmere universe has taken on Marvel overtones in that you have to have read every single damn book and memorised them in detail so you can get all the significances that now permeate the latest books

I really enjoyed the first 3 books of the Stormlight Archive, the 4th book was average imo and i have no intention of reading book 5 from the reviews i have read.

I also really enjoyed the Mistborn Trilogy & the Wax and Wayne follow on books.

Elantris was also very good.

I'm a Brandon Sanderson fan but I am a bit behind on some of his books, been meaning to catch up for awhile now but keep getting sidetracked.

I wasn't actually aware of a Mistborn TV show, hopefully they do it justice and it doesn't turn into some dodgy super hero style shlock.

What's the best order to read them in? I am just following internet recommendations but not sure if it's best
Start with Mistborn era 1 (3 books) or Elantris (stand alone) imo. Both are early releases and have no required reading to understand absolutely everything in them. You can start with Stormlight Archive but you might want to read Warbreaker (stand alone currently but another one is in the pipeline eventually) before the second book.

The cosmere stuff being 'required' is slightly overblown though. You don't need to have read everything to understand everything and it'll usually just be the odd "ooooh that's a reference to x term from y" rather than anything crucial. You can quite happily read any individual book or series without needing to read anything else.

I love Sanderson but he frustrates me because he takes so long to complete series, as he's always trying to avoid getting bored.
Some of his other stuff is great too. My whole family loved "The Reckoners" trilogy.

Mistborn was good but imo The Stormlight Archive is my absolute favourite from Sanderson so far. The characters are amazing and well thought out. On book 2 and love the character interaction good and bad. I hope Kaladin and Shallan get together.

The entire roster of characters are brilliant tbh, I am a book or so behind but I would say that Sanderson has done a fantastic job.

From the entire Dalinar family to the mysterious Hoid, I rarely find anyone that I don't find compelling.

As it happens, I've just been doing a full re-read of the Smortlight Archives before starting Wind and Truth - and just started Wind and Truth. Phenomenal books.

Anyone who is a fan of the Stormlight series really needs to start at the beginning and read/listen to all of the Cosmere books.

There are so many Easter eggs from all of his books

e.g.
Seon's feature heavily in Stormlight book 4 & 5, which were first introduced in Sandersons first novel Elantris

and second e.g.
Khris appears frequently in all of the different series, who was introduced in the White Sands graphic novel - which is an excellent audio book by the way. Hoid also has a jar of imbued sand that he uses in Book 4 of Stormlight I think

and of course
Hoid appears in every single Cosmere book in some way or another

and finally
Kelsier being the leader of the ghostbloods means he features in almost as many books as Hoid

I love discovering the little Easter eggs as I read through them.

Book 5 was a slog to read and it could have been condensed considerably, but it showed the growth of Dalinar from the blood thirsty War Monger to what we got in the end.

I would bump Elantris, Warbreaker and White Sands to the top of your list before continuing with Stormlight IMO.

When I finally realised that sword-nimi was Nightblood and that Vasher was Zahel - my jaw literally hit the floor.

[Edit] White Sands works very well as an audiobook, I much preferred it over the Graphic Novel.

[Edit 2] Move Arcanum Unbounded: The Cosmere Collection much much later.

You need to bang the Edgedancer novella in there too. I think it comes after Words of Radiance.
