The Cosmere...

Oh yes, you're right. You kind of have to split it up so you can slot the individual novellas where they belong, that's why I forgot it was part of that.

I enjoyed Edgedancer too. Really light tone, and adds loads of backstory to a fun character.

I am almost finish Warbreaker and absolutely loving it.

Edit - sorry misread arcanum unbound is at the end. My bad.

Have you connected the dots and figured out where Nightblood appears in Stormlight yet?

No haven't noticed tbh. It's a sentient sword used by Vasha. My guess its a shard blade is it?

Once I finish Warbreaker should I go through the Whitesand trilogy before continuing with Stormlight Oathbringer?

It's not essential to read / listen to Whitesand first, but there are some subtle tie-ins that you won't realise in Stormlight but they are Easter eggs rather than part of the core.

Regarding the previous spoiler - don't read the next bit unless you are really really curious but it's connecting dots you didn't realise were already there:

Nightblood = Sword Nimi (held by Szeth)

I'm currently on book 2 of the Mistborn trilogy.

Maybe an unpopular opinion but considering the hype around these books I am a little disappointed.

I was expecting more.

Don't get me wrong its good but not as good as all the hype.

I'm hoping it improves.

Joe Abercrombie is probably the best I have read in recent times.

Books 1-3 of The First Law trilogy are exceptional.

And the stand alone book Best Served Cold is brilliant.

The other 6 are good but don't live up to the standard of the first 4.

I liked Mistborn but it's not something I go back to re-read very often. The early Stormlight books are MUCH better IMO. It's definitely worth sticking with the whole Mistborn series (inc 4-6) if you plan on reading all of the Cosmere books though.

Ah yes i noticed it now, once Szeth loses his fight with Kaladin and he loses his shard blade. Its replaced and gifted with another blade. That must be Nightblood i assume.

I forget the exact wording but when introduced to the sword, the sword says something like "shall we destroy some evil today". There is some other description of the sword that makes the connection clear too

It's also one of (at least) two reveals which Michael Kramer spoils in the audiobook versions, as Sword Nimi has Nightblood's distinctive voice. Those words in that voice leaves no doubt as to the sword's origins.

The other is:

The chapter introductions for Hero of Ages are all done in a specific character's voice, giving away one of the book's big twists

Just finished White Sand, what a amazing story. Absolutely enjoyed it. Hope there will be a follow up in the future.

What medium did you follow it on? (Graphic novel or audio book)

Audiobook - Graphic Audio studio is my absolute favourite.

I'm just finishing up The Lost Metal's epilogue now. What a series Mistborn Era 2 was! Lots of hints at where things go from here too.

All I've got left to cover now is Elantris, White Sand, Yumi, Tress, The Sunlit Man and Wind & Truth.

O M G!!!!

That High Marshall Azure is Vivienne isn't she? The accent gave it away. Still to find out how she got here!

yes :) That's sort-of one of the disadvantages of the audiobooks though, you get those revelations much earlier on. It took me a good while longer to work it out when reading the books. You already know that Nightblood is on the planet too
