Chance to meet a major software developer...

*gasps* A company who may or may not be the a major developer of an incredible popular historical RTS series have just finished with their AV for their computer systems. My company are going down today for talks with them today to get them sorted with our AV software (hopefully). Now seeing as i've been such a good boy lately my manager has said I can tag along to go and meet the guys and act like a proper little (no doubt embarassing) groupie. However, I am prepared to forsake pride and go down there to shake hands with the godly designers of this series and milk myself a signed copy of the game.

Anyway i'm sort of in two minds... shall I go along, meet the guys and snop around... or stay back and let my manager try and get some free stuff?

Go along.. better than sitting in the office eh?

Do you reckon they'd mind me going there to chat to them for half an hour or do you think they'd be cool with it?

Don't want to bug them or anything.. .:D

Yes indeed. Slapped wrists for revealing the name of a (potential) customer. :p

Whichever you feel most comfortable with really - just remember you'd be there as a representative of the company.

Hmmm, I wonder. Will devs appreciate a fan telling them how great they are and generally stroking their ego?

Silly question. ;)

Eek, edited first post just for cautions sake lol.

Yeah I would be representing the company naturally and wouldn't act anything other than friendly and professional, but it would be nice to see some screen of Medieval 2 or maybe even see it in action. :D

I work next door to Reflections Interactive and, about a year ago, I happened to be imbibing a few cold alcoholic beverages in the pub that's about 40' from our building when four geeky types wearing 'Driv3r' shirts walked in.

I ran up to them and went 'OMGOMGOMG!!!! DID YOU GUYS WORK ON DRIV3R?!?!?!?!'

They tried to look suave and said 'well, actually...yes...'

"It's the worst game I've played. I actually took it back to the shop for a refund. I really don't know how you can live with yourselves, knowing that you allowed that tripe to be released..."

Cue four destroyed geeks. Man, I'm a bolshy ******** when I'm drunk.

lol.

Ayway i'm kind of going off the idea of actually going there as I think i'd feel like a bit of a pest... I think I might just get my manager to try and get a copy of Rome. :)
