The curse of resilient technology

Divorce is the only answer ;) shame it wasn't trashed TBH, I'm not a huge Coldplay fan!

Miss Paltrow on the other hand, growl !

HEADRAT

So the lead singer of an excruciatingly dull band composes some music on his computer and he doesn't back up the data. @ Chris Martin

They probably meant that the 3 master tracks that coldplay base all their songs on were on there! Heaven forbid if those wailing wonders were lost!

I bet if they just took the Hard drive out of it and put it in a another computer every thing would be still there

OMGZ THE HINGEZ FELL OFFF AND IT WONT TURN ON PROPERLY COZ THE CASE IS BROKEN!!!! THE INTERNALS MUST BE DAMAGEDZ!!!

is it just me or did that artical only say it damages the case, i.e no damage to HDD??? what they worring about?

'accidently knocked the computer over'? How about throwing it out the window after he insisted she listened to his new song for the second time? Can't blame her tbh

fini

The hinges broke and the screen was hanging off. It wouldn’t turn on. Chris does a lot of work on there and the computer is his baby.
bah... new monitor, new case... job done...
get a decent motherboard that has on/off+reset switches on the mobo and now you dont need a case (ala DFI LanParty boards) ;)

edit: they probably dislodged a few of the mobo-to-case connectors (i.e. power switch, HDD LED etc...)

My point is, I would never drop one deliberately, because damage to a hard drive is comparably easy to cause.

Also, while a hard drive may stand up physically to a few whacks with a hammer, did it work afterwards? How about if you give it a good whack while it's running? I wouldn't want to knock the heads into the platters to be honest.

This is what i get for posting a light hearted snipe at Coldplay on a message board inhabited, nay, *infested* by geeks.....

....A discussion about motherboards.
