The Darkness

That's the motion blur though, a lot of people don't like it as it can be construed as being a cheap trick to try hide the troubles with some graphics. I think it is over used atm, but i am curious as to how the 360 version looks.
Maye the EU release will get AA and that's why it is taking so long to get here lol
Even when he was standing still the edges of stuff looked great, motion blur only seems to come into effect when you take sharp turns. (From what I saw in multiplayer atleast)

It looked a lot better than what I thought it would, I was expecting sharp textures let down by horrible jaggies.

I own em all, was hoping for the 360 to have a demo soon. The PS3 seems to have the better color and lighting, but just too sharp. Dunno if it is gonna be a problem with HDMI that it is just too crisp it shows the jaggies. Also the PS3 version doesn't use motion blur, weather or not you think it is a pro or a con is up to you, but that also doesn't help the jaggies :(

Jaggies in 2007, what's the world comming too?

I have used component on the PS3 as well, same issues regarding jaggies.

Not sure how far i am into it, but throughly enjoying it. Ok so its not perfect, but i think its one of the best fps i've played for a while. The beginning sequence with the car chase was wicked, it just grabbed me and i was hooked.

The story and characters are quite interesting and it does a good job of keeping me involved in them, unlike most characters in games. The Darkness is cool and i like the minions, they're fun if not that useful. Got its fair share of niggles, but i hope it does well enough to have a sequel done as i think its got potential.

I found the WW1 bits a bit scary though, which made a change. The darkness powers were interesting, i liked the darkness guns though...seemed to be the most effective of all the powers...the arm one was good for moving things out of the way but really didnt use it that much tbh. Creeping dark was another power i found useful, useful for taking out a lot of the enemies when the guns werent of much use.

Yeah I found Creeping Dark to be the most useful power when forced to fight enemies in cover, duck back round into a dark corner and send the creeping dark out for some throats.
I actually had the Demon Arm as my default power most of the time for knocking out lights and if you stumbled across an enemy and arent close enough for an execution it was a quick kill.

What would you guys rate this out of 10?

Looking to buy on the PS3 when it comes out if the results are positive.

(FYI: I've read the 1up.com and IGN reviews)

Got it on the PS3 well over half way and have enjoyed it a lot. Not as good as RFOM in my opinion but its a bit different type of game. The darkness powers are very useful and the darklings work well. Graphics are not the best ive seen but at 720P they look better than 1080i, less jaggy, cant think ive ever had any slow down anywhere yet so im not sure where IGN got that from. The MP aint great at the moment due to lag, I guess not many people in the UK/ Europe have it yet so were prob on US machines (talking bout PS3 here). In total id give it 8/10 maybe 8.5-9 if the multi player worked correctly!

I did read that they only added the multiplayer at the last minute, and weren't too serious about it, so it might be an ongoing problem :o

I havent tried the multiplayer but considering I'm itching to run through the single player again already, I dont really care !

I'm loving this game at the moment.

With regards to the graphics, I'm finding they are quite hit and miss. Sometimes they can look pretty poor, yet at other times they look incredible (the WW1 section looks fantastic IMO). Overall I'd say there is more good than bad. Love the motion blur too, it's not overdone IMO and just gives the game a really nice 'feel'.

Exactly what i thought!

Really nicely done and not overtop. Its not annoying like other games.

I havent really enjoyed this game tbh.
Im on the WW1 part and there is an exploading bomb blocking my path and
i cant get past, how annoying, any tips ?

Possibly find a darkling pit and use the kamakazie [sp?] one. I'm not sure about the bit you are talking about. Another option is the demon arm to move things.

im walking the trenches in world war one. and this unexploaded bomb is blocking my way. jesus i dunno why i play games liek this lol..
back to me golf :)

Look to your left while in front on the bomb, theres a small passageway right in the corner that you can get in by ducking.

Okay, the game finally arrived this morning, but I didn't get to play it til later.

But, my first impressions are that this game is phenomenal. Awesome audio, great graphics, probably the best voice acting in a game. I've always said it's the little things that make great games and this game has so much quality for the little things that I'm blown away.

I've taken it very slowly, looking out for phone numbers and watching TV shows and movies etc.. brilliant.

Same here, I must be about 20hrs into this game and still a long way to go but i've found loads of collectables and done as many side quests as I can fnd.

I am really enjoying it!

I really like it too. I have got many 360 games but this is the first that has made me sit up and take notice of things for a while.
Well this and Flatout :)

Okay, I've played it a bit more....

This game is THE reason to have an Xbox360. Stunning. The first game to really challenge GoW for graphics as well.
