The Darkness

got this with the box, played it upto setting the cash on fire, then haven touched it

good i thought, but i just didnt settle into it enough to want to keep playing

The Darkness has the distinction of being the only good game to come out in 2007 alongside Burning Crusade. This gen sucks badly.

I think you're exagerrating somewhat there as many people, myself included, would say 2007 has been the strongest year for games ever.

Burning Crusade? Surely you do not mean that terrible WoW expansion that effectively killed the game?

Jeez, that's a very odd opinion on the best games of last year.

As for The Darkness I hated it, the controls are just crap and I played the 360 version, the aiming was just dodgy, I don't even think a mouse and keyboard would be much help.

The aiming wasn't as messed up as Turok though.

I'm expecting massive disappointment for MGS4 (I really don't think it will be special, MGS was in a class of its own but the series has been dwindling and MGS4 just doesn't look that good) and GTA4 doesn't seem to offer anything more than Saints Row.

The only other year I can think of to compete would be a decade ago, 1997 with Mario64, Pilotwings 64, Turok and Zelda IIRC.

I should really play this again. Got so far (can't remember how far now) then stopped playing for some reason.
Only bought it because of Nokkon's nagging :p

Haly! Stop what your doing and put the game in your 360 right now!

It has a great storyline if you follow it which I'm sure you'd love.

I wish I could, got work in the morning which means I shouldn't really be here anyhow :o
Tomorrow night though maybe :D I need something to keep me hooked.

Well Nokkon is not usually right about stuff (:p), but he is right in his love for The Darkness, I really enjoyed it and I played a shoddy port of it on PS3 - Sill loved it.

Enjoy work :D

Just finished the game last night. I can see influences of Max Payne and Silent Hill in it.

I don't know where to find the wife of the soldier to give the letter to, or the guy with the red hat, he's not appearing on the platform as I would expect.

I was a big fan of the comic when it originally came out and I thought the game is pretty good as a very rough translation of that. Would have liked to see more of the characters from the comic's though.

The loading between locations was tedious and what was the point of a subway with only two stations?

I didn't enjoy the hell episodes much other than meeting the british soldiers as there was too much open landscape and not enough going on.
