The Division 2 - March 2019

Managed to finally finish all the story missions last night, and only have 3 side missions left to compelete now. But have only just made level 28.

Any tips on getting the extra XP at all?

have you done all the control points? also do the other activities like save the hostage etc

i got to 30 and only did one side mission, im on wt4 now and just starting to work through them

little tip i forgot to mention too, the reviver hive skill works on yourself too, so if you have it equipped as a solo and you go down then this will revive you
comes in very handy for harder bounties, since if you die you fail them
so you get 2 attempts instead of 1

I am the opposite.

Level 27 with main quests left, 20 or so side quests left, I am hoping I get to do them all and it doesnt just change to that post game content when I hit 30.

If you run out of side quests, gran any control points left, as they award chunks of exp, after that if you still need then do projects as they also give blueprints, after that then do random activities.

It's better to do what he did for earning field proficiency caches after you ding 30 (which are very useful for boosting gear score). Main missions award fixed XP necessary to level up at the requisite mission level whereas side missions offer 33% of your current level xp. It makes more sense to work through main missions and other content and save as many side missions for post level 30. Just a tip for newbie players.

At 448 gear score now, need a set of 450 knee pads to get my score maxed out for now but RNJebus is failing me atm. Mostly just stockpiling gear with talents I like for when WT5 drops. Looking forward to grinding for 6 piece gear sets and exotics.

Though I have Googled i am not really any the wiser.
So can someone tell me what Gear Protocol Mods are and what I do with them?

Some types of armour will have mod slots, there is different types of slots, if you have a compatible mod with a slot e.g. offensive protocol mod, then you can equip it to the gear, unlike skill mods it doesnt require skill points so they are pretty useful.

So interestingly after I reconnected the hdd led to my system I noticed there is a ton of i/o when in the game, I check task manager and the ssd its running off its doing a consistent 40-60mB/sec of constant i/o, so the game is pretty demanding on that, also I see the cpu usage reported in osd is actually lower than my actual cpu usage as it excludes kernel calls, my actual usage on all cores is about 50-80%..

How do you offer to help when you receive a request for assistance?

I thought about helping out a few times but unsure how to do it

Managed to get to level 12 so far and enjoying the game

Open your map with M, there should then be different tabs to go through (I think top left? of the screen), one of the tabs then shows the players that have requested help, click on them and you should get the option to join etc.

Useful to know, thanks! I'll try and keep it on quest from here on then :D Currently at level 12 or so.
I'm guessing events like public executions are random and would carry on spawning regardless of level / how many I've done?

Does everyone get something from the clan progress? I've just been to the clan management room and there was nothing in the chest??

I just did a clean install on a SSD (just bought it from OcUK for £54) and it seems to have made quite a difference. Bear in mind that my old HDD was a normal mechanical type and pretty much full up.
Load times have reduced significantly and the lag/stuttering is all but gone... subject to further testing.

I turned the default high setting on and went though Drollic's post and turned all heavy impact settings to medium and made sure everything else was set to high. I have a 970gtx, xeon @3.1 and 8 gig of ram. Load on both was about 80% at a steady 60fps.

you should be fine. I used to play division 1 on a mechanical hd and had the same issues - the game would stutter or freeze sometimes, i guess because the hd couldn't load areas fast enough. Originally bought an ssd for path of exile and it eliminated the load times between areas, which are very long when playing from a mechanical hd. Has a similar effect on the division (1 & 2) and they run much more smoothly.
