Some of the finest games in existence.
I never forget the fateful evening I bought Dizzy (1). Upon my mother and father leaving for an evening out, I was left under the supervision of my gran.
I was allowed a fiver to spend at the local newsagent that night. So, (and here is the bizarre thing you could do at small newsagents back then, young ones) I checked out the selected of budget cassetes on the swivelly-rack-thing for a while (half of them probably codemasters). Yes indeed, I had to buy it. I had to.
Upon arriving home I was given a bit of a scolding for buying a 'computer game' and should my gran have known I would do this, I wouldn't have had the money. I still have no idea why she thought it was that bad but there you go, games where somewhat similar to taking class A to older folk back then.
Anyway, I spent ages on that game. And news of Treasure Island Dizzy (in a preview in Amstrad Action) sent me nuts. Classic classic games.
One day I will play them all back to back, and shed a tear. And then be thankful that my gran spared me the cash to begin that adventure.
