Not sure if this is the right forum as these were technically Amiga and C64 games. Were there or have there ever been any remakes of these games? I used to spend hours running and jumping with my little eggy friend solving puzzles.

Some of the finest games in existence.

I never forget the fateful evening I bought Dizzy (1). Upon my mother and father leaving for an evening out, I was left under the supervision of my gran.

I was allowed a fiver to spend at the local newsagent that night. So, (and here is the bizarre thing you could do at small newsagents back then, young ones) I checked out the selected of budget cassetes on the swivelly-rack-thing for a while (half of them probably codemasters). Yes indeed, I had to buy it. I had to.

Upon arriving home I was given a bit of a scolding for buying a 'computer game' and should my gran have known I would do this, I wouldn't have had the money. I still have no idea why she thought it was that bad but there you go, games where somewhat similar to taking class A to older folk back then.

Anyway, I spent ages on that game. And news of Treasure Island Dizzy (in a preview in Amstrad Action) sent me nuts. Classic classic games.

One day I will play them all back to back, and shed a tear. And then be thankful that my gran spared me the cash to begin that adventure.

I also share fond memories of that little tumbling egg. If memory serves me right, it was damn hard also, not the egg the game. :D

Nice recollection n3crius!! I had over 10 Dizzy games on the Spectrum (had the 5 pack collections that cost around £10 - bargain). Seem to remember enjoying Treasure Island, Fantasy Land and Prince of the Yolk Folk the most. I bought Bubble Dizzy with my pocket money and must say I was disappointed! I think I got stuck near the beginning and couldn't play any further.

Used to love these games. My first adventure into games that required some thinking.

Also remember buying cassettes at different shops. :)

Fantasy Island or that aquatic one were the best.

Not talking about Bubble Dizzy are you?

That had a really catchy tune to it (as does most of the Dizzy games). Used to spend hours on that game yet it was so simple.

That's the one! I should really find an emulator and complete that sometime.

Dam these games used to frustrate the hell out of me :D

lol thats the first memory i have of these games :). remember getting a commadore 64 with an awesomly quick tape drive and a box full of tapes, including either 2 or 3 of the dizzy games. definatly the first 2 at least. i honestly could not play them at all. just found them really hard, frustrating and annoying, plus the fact i was only like 8 or 9 (maybe 10) at the time

might be time to go back to them now im a lot older and see if i can finish them lol
