THE EQUALIZER 3

Watch it tonight at the cinema and it was a fitting send off for Robert McCall. It was clinical is all I can say. Read this will be the final one from Denzel so hope he does change his mind.

He is absolutely lethal in this one.

I think its his age...I mean he still looks good but physically we might be getting in geriatric territory.

I re-watched the first one on a flight the other day. Hadn't seen it for nearly 10 years but the 'Rewatchables' did a podcast on it that got me interested in seeing it again. Was better than I remembered to be honest.

Does he still have OCD tics or did they do away with that (don't remember them in the sequel)

I went to see this movie last night at the local Odeon. Considering it had only been out for a week, I was surprised to find that there were only three people in the theater.

I'm not entirely sure if it warranted a trip to the cinema, to be honest, as it's not a grand epic film that would justify the expense (although I did manage to get free tickets). Overall, I enjoyed the last two films and found the "final" instalment to be a good watch. It might have had less action than the previous one, but it was still enjoyable.

Enjoyable enough, but I found the finale a bit anti-climactic.

I guess it subverted the previous two finale's, but
It was basically Denzel easily murdering people, as opposed to being in jeopardy

Also could have done with more Dakota Fanning and Denzel Washington scenes. Her plot felt a bit muddled/unconnected to what was going on.

Was gonna go to watch this at the cinema this week (special offer so only 3.5 euros for all showings this week).

The digital releases are all messed up these days. Some films 4 weeks (like this one) and others 12 weeks (like barbenheimer).

Was thinking I could go and see haunting in Venice instead, but that will probably hit digital next week!

8/10 Love this series of films. Each one is the same yet so different and evolves his character.
Denzel never fails to deliver and even aged 68 he still walks like the slickest man on the planet.
Considering this is the only film/character he's done sequels to, it's a very solid trilogy in my opinion. He's not even that physical compared to other action films and stars, but the cerebral element is where he shines.

Potential future[edit]

In August 2023, Fuqua stated that there have been discussions to develop a prequel movie detailing the origins of Robert McCall.[26] The filmmaker stated that using de-aging technology to make Washington appear younger is an option,[26] while he would also consider casting John David Washington or Michael B. Jordan in the role.[27] Later that month, Fuqua stated that while The Equalizer 3 was talked about internally as the final film chronologically, he would be interested in returning as director for a future installment if Denzel Washington was interested in returning to the role.[28]

Overall really enjoyed it. The ending was a bit rushed I feel though, really wanted more of a ware house finally from the first one but a good closer to the series. Was hoping the theme from Zack Hemsey Vengence would play again though.

Watched this tonight. Disappointed... It was almost like half the film was missing...

Slow long start, nothing in the middle, job finished roll credits. Poorest of the 3
