Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis are to return for "substantial roles" in the Expendables follow-up.

Simon West will be directing the actors in the sequel to the action superhero film, according to Deadline.

Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Dolph Lundgren and Mickey Rourke are also to reprise their roles.

Jean-Claude Van Damme and Chuck Norris have signed up to The Expendables 2.

The actors will join Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and producer Sylvester Stallone in the follow-up to the action film.

Nicolas Cage and John Travolta are also rumoured to be interested in joining the cast.

Stallone added of Travolta: "It's possible. The one thing I've learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling.

"It's not financial. It's just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt. It's a commitment, you know what I mean? Especially in the dead of winter."

The first grew on me after I watched it for the second time, surely this one is going to be even better with the cast that's now signed up. Still missing Danny Trejo and maybe a Steven Seagal & Robert De Niro in similar roles to which they had in Machete. Need to get a big name female this time around as well

Oh my god YES! I agree the first grows on you, the first time I saw it I was a little disappointed, though mainly because of some of the cringeworthy script writing/line delivery. Dolph Lundgren was probably my favourite from the first, weirdly he seemed to do the better acting! Arnies bit from the first seemed a little strained, hopefully he'll up his game for the second.

Which action star ISNT in this film now? :D

Arnold Schwarzenegger
Sylvester Stallone
Jason Statham
Bruce Willis
Jean-Claude Van Damme
Jet Li
Mickey Rourke
Chuck Norris
Dolph Lundgren
Terry Crews
Nicolas Cage
John Travolta

If I was one of those actors I wouldn't even care about the money or where it was shot. Just to be in a film with all them people would be enough to make you want to do it. :D

Mr T, Jackie Chan? Dunno about women really, from that period I guess they could drag out Brigitte Nielsen, but that would go horribly wrong!

I had an awesome time watching the first. More of the same, and I will be happy. Throw in a bit of Nicholas Cage, John Travolta, Steven Seagal, Wesley Snipes, etc... And I will be very happy. :D

It would've done if he wasn't in his 70s and woefully out of shape.

You mean like Stallone, Arnie, Willis (to an extent)...;)

It's a shame these casts weren't brought together 20 years ago, would have been even more epic than now.

How about Samuel L Jackson and Harrison Ford, and yep Chan and maybe the guy from Hot Shots (if he's not on his drug bender). Also Segal would be a possibility.

All so old though!
