I've been through all the race threads for this year and worked out a score for each race. I used the same scoring system as F1 so 25 points for 10/10, down to 1 point for 1/10. I then worked out the maximum available points by multiplying the number of people who voted by 25 and then calculated the score as a percentage against the possible maximum.

I've included Monaco even though the poll was a joke with only one available option.

The win for Lewis at Silverstone was clearly the highlight of the year for OcUK and I think this is a decent representation of the season overall.

I did chuckle a little bit as I went through the polls to see that we have someone who always seems to vote 10 if Max wins and 1 if he doesn't

Would be interesting to see the scores chronologically too - did ratings improve overall during the period we had a 'title fight' and there was some actually jeopardy to the results?

But the constructors title was won on the last race of the season?

Are you implying the drivers title is more important that the constructors ?

...and it would be interesting to see if the ratings were better during the period that became a 'title fight' compared to 'McLaren pretty much have this sewn up already'.

Just as it would be interesting to see if the ratings were better during the period the drivers title was a 'title fight' compared to 'Max has this sewn up'.

Even with Monaco included using the joke poll, it's score is still too high. :D
I'm not sure Silverstone was the race of the year for me, but I honestly can't remember what I was voting and am too lazy to look. I think I preferred Spa.

I've kept a Google sheet of the voting since 2021, although I've not really gone through the data yet. Here's the link: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/185UDYIuPfJJ0-7kVjukg1-h_HaSdiq8-amBBRAIiZlw/edit?usp=sharing

It looks like this year was the highest rated since 2021, averaging 6.16 per race with the worst being 2023 with 5.02 per race. The best race in that period was GB 2024 at 8.95, and worst was Monaco 2021 at 2.54 - but this excludes Belgium 2021 (as the only options were 'medical car' and 'safety car') and Monaco 2024 (as the only available voting option was '1').

It is understandable some will always vote higher because their favourite driver won the race, I try to vote purely on how good the actual race is. However I still would have liked to have been able to vote for Monaco and not had it censored by one person's opinion..

Could Monaco have scored higher than a 2 this year based on what you say? You can give it an extra point for some needless Magnussen nonsense, but I'd say that was one of it's worst races ever.

Can't remember what best race was.
But the season was great

I don't really support a driver so the WCC is not important to me

Obviously Monaco was the worst. It has to be bad weather for Monaco to get anything more than a 1.

I come on the forum to see the poll result for Monaco and don't bother watching if it's dire.

It'll never go due to the money. But it's by far and away the worst race in terms of being consistently bad (ie most years are bad) and the level of bad is also rock bottom.

Quality thread @Feek I was saying to @chrismscotland that the data would be interesting.
@GravyMonster will check out that google doc when I get time. It's blocked currently where I'm working. I'd like to work out the consistently **** tracks for racing where they should be dropped over several seasons. Monaco would obviously be in there.

It's a good strategy. Next season I'm voting 1 for every race that Alonso doesn't win. How many races in 2025 again? :D
Perhaps there should be a category that states I'm only voting because my favourite driver lost/won, silverstone score might drop as well then.
Then leave the scoring to us more neutral f1 fans who actually are voting for the racing.

People can vote how they want..isn't that the point of gaining forum members opinion in the first place? or are people not allowed to hold an opinion unless it confirms to some sort of forum wide biases?
If someone wants to vote 10 and then 1 based on their favourite drivers performance then that's still as good a vote as any.
