It would work to some extent at least, but the execution is awful.

If we're hitting it long, Fellaini is fine. If we're trying to play as we are, Mata makes more sense. We have huge gaps between Blind and the other midfielders when we have the ball, it just goes to full backs and then the attacks fizzle out.
 
Quite an achievement that Van Gaal has this team playing like they are, IMO. Aye they're 3rd but my god it's dross. Maybe it'll just take time. Poch and Enrique are great examples of this.

Going to take different players in a few positions, too.

If we want a team of players who are technically excellent and have great decision making, a fair few.

I think we'd be better off going for a different style, or at least putting more of a focus on something else rather than careful and ultimately blunt probing.
