it surely has to be the end of LvG.

I'm sure Woodward would find a reason not to fire him even if Utd do lose

Just have the feeling they are doing everything they can to hang on until the end of the season (even if that means no CL next season - which appears to be against everything the club has said recent past but hey ho)

If the board /Woodward wanted to guarantee the CL income next season (as much as you can "guarantee" of course) they surely would have fired him in Dec/early Jan at the latest so something productive could be done in the window (even if its just one or two players)
 
Derby are in pretty dire form as well so wouldn't expect much of a fight, this is the FA cup however so an upset maybe on the cards with Man U going through.
 
At least they are consistent. Actually, both teams are quite consistently rubbish.

After how absolutely abject Manchester United have been under Louis van Gaal, the club have shown that they are unwilling to remove him for performances alone. I think it will be a situation similar to Moyes, that when European football (which is the absolute minimum expectation for the club) becomes unachievable, he will be removed.
