The FA CUP Third Round - 5/6/7 January *** Spoilers ***

Southend or Brentford v Chelsea

That would be so awesome to go to :( rubbish health/joint pain/rubbish in the cold sucks balls for live football.

Arsenal, lol, Swansea almost gifted us the game and we still threw it away. Had Britton stayed on and Swansea gone for a second they'd have almost certainly won, but they did the classic mistake, took off their probably best/most important player, and dropped deeper and really didn't try to get forward. After our second goal they pushed forwards and made chances and got the goal relatively easily.

Walcott was awful, Santi was rubbish, defensively we're completely rubbish, Sagna was just abysmal, Mert is SO easily beaten its embarrassing, a big slow lanky pratt and he loves stepping out to try and intercept the ball... other defenders can do that and have the agility and speed to turn and maybe make saving tackle if they get beaten, he absolutely doesn't yet still plays like he could.

Offensively we're relying on Santi to have good games too much and he's having good games too little. As usual there is just a touch of class about Podolski, that quality about him that even in a poor game he can produce a great finish, that Walcott, Giroud and others just don't have about them. Podolski is good enough but without good enough players around him. Giroud at his best can have a decent game but nothing about him screams great player or that he'll eventually become really good, just seems average and inconsistent.

Ultimately the performance was poor and the only real difference between this and the last 5-6 games... was the quality of the opposition. Swansea rested some key players, looked pretty comfortable, brought on a couple first teamers, scored instantly, took their foot off the gas then when required got an equaliser without much trouble.

If we give Walcott a contract I'll be livid, he's not worth anything close to what he's getting now, he has ZERO ability to take a game to the opposition, IF and ONLY IF the team is playing well or someone sets him up with an easy chance can he have any effect, in a game where Arsenal sucked, Henry could turn the entire game himself with an inspired performance, he could score goals, set it up, drive the team forwards and create chances for others, Walcott is entirely incapable of anything remotely close to that.

We HAVE to get two fullbacks at the least and drop Sagna/Gibbs completely, yeah he got a good goal, he's not a fullback, he can't defend in the slightest and a goal like that will come across maybe once a season for him. Both are so poor defensively that I'd happily see Gibbs sold and Sagna walk when his contract is up if we can't sell him sooner. we need two first team capable fullbacks and to rotate them with Jenks.

Two quality fullbacks will help hugely in defensive terms but also ours are pretty rubbish going fowards in the vast majority of games, so would help offensively as well.

To be fair he was never given a chance at Chelsea but the three drag backs before the goal show he's got the quality to become the worlds best striker.

Edit: After Suarez that is.
