The FA CUP Third Round Replays - 15/16 January *** Spoilers ***

With all the west ham players asking for shirts to be exchanged at the end, does that show respect or that they are in awe of teams like Manchester United?

It cant be any worse than the drab 1-0 earlier in the season between the two sides at OT

What do you know I was wrong :o

Pretty poor second half performance from everyone bar Giggs, Jones, Smalling, Buttner and Rafael who were all brilliant throughout

Top striker is Walcott. Deserves that £80k a week or what ever he wants.

You know what the worst thing is, I genuinely can't decide if Walcott dived in the first half or just fell over the ball, why, because I've not seen another player in the premier league fall over the ball or get it caught between his feet as often as Walcott, any other player in the league I'd call it a dive, him, could genuinely be his problem with standing up that was the problem.

Walcott had one of his truly abysmal games today, with the same lack of work rate, apparently he has the offer he wants and isn't even going to wait to sign the contract before he stopped trying properly.

At one point, another time he got the ball caught between his legs like a 4 year old child does, he just stood there, the ball 2 yards behind him and a Swansea player at least 6-7 yards away beat him to the ball. Turn around and the ball was his, but for some reason upon the ball disappearing he just kinda stood there for a few seconds like he just couldn't be bothered.

Giving him a new contract is the worst thing we could do, not only because he's **** but because giving someone as poor as him a new contract for the biggest wage at the club says one thing to a guy like Wilshire.... this is the quality of crap you'll be playing with if you stay at Arsenal, the last message I would want to send to any player let alone Wilshire.

His recent 5 year contract signing seems to suggest otherwise matey.

No it doesn't, he was on probably sub 40k a week still and got bumped up to 80k a week, if you were at the club and left in two years, would you want to make 40k or 80k a week over those two years. He wants to stay, RVP stated quite certainly that he wanted to stay but had to leave to win things. Wilshire wants to win things at Arsenal just like Cesc and RVP, but ultimately at some stage he'll realise leaving will mean success, not carrying the team around him, a lot more money.

Its games like this that will make him leave, the amount of good play ruined by Walcott/others was laughable and someone of his ability will look around him and eventually get so angry he leaves to find real success. He's a truly excellent player that was a class above everyone on the pitch tonight and most nights.

Phewwww glad we finally beat Swansea, not a great performance by us but still get us through to the next round against Brighton.

Nani started the 2nd half well , but became more and more invisible

Went for a couple of "hollywood" goals - one of which actually tested JJ lol (I think in the 1st half), but at least it looks like SAF is giving him a chance (surely he will have to be sold in the summer if he doesnt re-sign though)

Actually surprised at how well Smalling and Jones did - I know it was only WHU (no disrespect meant in the slightest) , it was more inexperience of playing as a pair imo that led to the few mistakes they made.

a lot of the press seem to be jumping on the Rafael "handball" even though it bounced off his thigh first. The actual penalty I thought was a little harsh, just from how it actually happened, "letter of the law" award rather than spirit imo. Not really that much of a surprise Rooney missed lol

Giroud was absolutely awful last night, we desperately need a top class striker. Diaby was very poor too, hopefuly he'll get injured soon so we might buy a replacement. Thought Cazorla and Walcott were both pretty average. Wilshere, amazing, he seems to have gained some acceleration and pace this season looks like he'll be our driving force for the rest of the season. If only the other players put in a fraction of his work rate.

I didn't see the one for our penalty but anyone calling that a handball is an idiot.

It bounces off his thigh and hits his hand which is by his side, how on earth could that be intentional?

If only that would happen, hes been injured so much of his Arsenal career...yet Wenger still perseveres with him:confused::(. The guy gives us maybe 5-10 games before he breaks down then we dont see him till the following season when again hes either injured or playing poorly as usual.

This is why Arsenal are currently in the position that they are in, far far too many deadwood players in the squad that we cant get shot of.

The thing is he's only ever good for 20% of the few games he is fit for anyway. Him and Rosicky must be sleeping with Wenger as i can't see why anyone would give them new contracts.

Not disputing that at all, but BBC's report reads like WH where hard done by, and so do a few newspaper websites

It did make me laugh when I just read Saurez stating that Utd own the press in this country :D

Giroud to be fair was just getting to grips with the team when he was shafted by Wenger for a woeful Walcott and has had poor sub appearances like at City to deal with where his lack of game time, form and confidence means he misses a few shots and it gets worse and worse. Walcott has been horrendous upfront yet he destroyed the confidence of another player to push him up there, and now has two useless players. Giroud isn't top class, he was performing ok, not so much as a goal scorer but his link up play and ability to help bring Santi/Podolski into the game in and around the box was pretty decent. Now like Vela, Eduardo, Bendtner and a dozen others he looks like he's desparate to score a hattrick to have any chance of starting the next game, well played Wenger.

Santi was meh last night, and Walcott wasn't average, he was completely awful. He dived or fell over his own feet, trod on the ball/got it caught between his legs 4-5 times, refused to fight for the ball, from what I recall tried to help defend once the entire game, his delivery was woeful, he was simply abysmal... this was against a Swansea who rested players and played very poorly for them gifted him several pretty easy chances and he failed to do anything with them. Arsenal fan's issue and the easy ride they've given Wenger and the team is classifying a performance like that as average when it was nothing short of terrible.

Diaby, slow on the ball, boring in his passing, no pace, no drive, no fight, just pointless like his entire career at Arsenal... I'm sure I read something that suggested he actually came off injured..... I'm only surprised the leading betting websites don't have official diaby/rosicky sections where you can bet on how many games they'll play in a season and how long till they get reinjured after they play their first game.

Wilshire, he's just a brilliant player, he's already one of the best players in the league but will be recognised as such and improve a little over the next few years. The only player we have currently who could compete for a starting spot at Barca on ability, the only player remotely close. AS for pace/acceleration, realistically he's a bit older and I would imagine a bit stronger, but the main difference is 2 years ago he played as really the only DM, this year Arteta plays deeper than him and lets him get forward a bit more, much like he did for England before his injury, and with Coquelin playing behind him last night he again spent more time driving forwards. he was always quite fast and a very powerful runner, he just had the discipline(unlike half the team) to restrain his play when he played defensive midfielder, rather than rush out of position and leave us hanging.

There is a reason we've conceded so few(comparitively) the two years he's played, and that most of our goals come from individual errors and from the wings rather than being outplayed down the middle as often as before he played with us, he's fantastic.

Giggs was incredible, it wasn't just the quality of the passing and dribbling...he was winning tackles and outpacing people 20 years younger. Watching Giggs run with the ball is still the finest sight in football.

For all the talk of Messi and Ronaldo these days I highly doubt they could take a game by the scruff of the neck like that at 39.

Would love a Spurs v Arsenal final and beating them to get Wenger the sack. The things dreams are made of.

LOL Wenger IS NOT going to be sacked..even if you lot beat us. Reckon only relegation would get Wenger sacked but even then i dont think Arsenal would sack him.

Now your team??...hmmm less said than that the better methinks:p
