I personally don't think that should ever be a penalty, but then I disagree with a lot of the way the game has gone. Any touch these days is considered a foul, the guys in the studio can call it a contact sport as much as they like but it basically isn't. Give it ten years and any sort of physical challenge will be gone, it'll be like Basketball.
 
Interesting that the panel are strongly on the no penalty side, I thought it was soft but erred on the side of 'virtually any contact is given these days'. Surprised to see them on that side of the fence, Shearer is very upset :p
 
Great consistency from Big Al and co. When Calvert Lewin barges into Lovren and Lovren pits his hand up it's a pen. When that ****head puts his arm around Lallana to hold him back it's a contact sport :o
 
Funny Shearer thinks its a 'contact sport' now :D Tbf I'd rather we won by cheating vs everton at this stage

Looks like he called him a puta and then Holgate reacted to try and get him carded (as Holgate probably assumed he was already getting carded himself... so getting someone else a card as well was the best case outcome).

Was a penalty. It could so easily be avoided by simply not putting your arms round him.

Lallana fighting it out for the oscar against Hazard though. Still time for Zaha to make a late bid for the crown.
 
Do love how people have jumped to racism by firmino, could have said anything but why assume racist? Holgate head was gone before that which is obvious by the push alone

He barely made any contact with him, there was no force in the contact and Lallana throws himself to the ground like his legs have been swiped. Should have been carded. Never a penalty in a million years.

Nope, another case of any contact in the box being a penalty for some reason. Hazard could have continued as he was and the challenge made 0 difference to him. He felt the contact and took the dive. Same as Lallana.

Love how people get up in arms about some words when you’ve got players f’ing and blinding at refs or other players every week :p

Offtopic, but considering Suarez racially abused him at least 10 times I wonder what that Marseille fan did inside 10 seconds to get a much larger reaction
