Well I have got my final build plans in to OcUK:

Case: Antec 1200
Mobo: Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3
CPU: Intel Core i7 920 DO overclocked to 4Ghz
Memory: Corsair XMS3 6 Gb DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600Mhz) tri channel
Heatsink: Corsair H50-1 High-Performance CPU Watercooler
HDD's: 1 x Intel X-25M gen 2 160 Gb SSD
3 x Samsung F3 1Tb
Soundcard: Creative X-Fi Titanium - Fatal1ty Champion 7:1
Optical: 1 x Pioneer BDR - SO30XLB
1 x Sony Optiarc DRU-870S 24X DVD+-RW
Video: XFX HD 1 GB 5850

Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit retail version

I will add on to this:
Monitor: Dell Ultra sharp U2410 24"
Keyboard: Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000
Mouse: Razer Deathadder respawn 3500
Joystick: Saitek X-52 Pro

That about covers it ...... :D
 
Ummm I was told to go for Ultimate because of some (I quote), "unlock features" .... what these are I wouldn't have a clue .... feel free to comment please ... :)
 
Psch if your just going to be using it as a home/gaming pc, you won't need any so called 'extra features' of ultimate, it's a rip off really, get home premium :)
 
Quite a comprehensive chart of the different versions of Win 7. Have a look at the additional features of Ultimate and see if you need them.

lol so all ultimate gets you is 'unspecified features'? That sounds like a euphemism if ever there was one
 
doesn't really give a lot by the look of it does it ... I remember something about the virtual desktop and hard disc booting but that is WAY WAY over my head .... I will have to question the need for it now certainly .... that would leave an extra £80 or so to spend elsewhere :D :D :D
