US: The Following

I liked this show to start with but then it's just started getting a bit silly. So I got bored and stopped watching.

Ditto. I think I made it to Ep 6 or 7 of S1 and called it a day. Shame really, as I thought the first few episodes had the making for a decent series.

Perhaps its tricky to get bacon in such good roles and positions to make him shine.....

but yeah americans milk this like nothing to the point of boredom

I've just finished watching season two and I doubt I'll come back for the third. What a huge waste of potential this show is. Both seasons have started out with plenty of promise - the serial killer cult in 1, Lilly's happy family in 2 - before descending into tired and increasingly ridiculous action film clichés. I usually hate it when people claim to have predicted in exact detail how a series or whatever will end, but did anyone seriously imagine any other outcome when they entered that house at the end of season two? Surely not. The sense of impending boredom undermined some otherwise interesting interactions between Ryan, Joe, and the twins (Sam Underwood plays them really well).

Saying that, the writing is...up and down. Ryan telling Joe that he could now 'build new memories from a new life' is the most cringe-worthy piece of TV I've seen in a long time. Awful writing, poorly delivered. You could almost see Kevin Bacon thinking 'why on earth would my character say something like that?' It was so bad I almost stopped procrastinating and did some work.

The only way I'll watch season three is if I hear that Mike Weston dies. What a tedious character.

I think this has run its course now. Just watching the third episode and it's the same plot device every few mins....

They find out the name of the box killer and arrive just in time to save the nurse but he gets away.

They get to his house but only seconds before he manages to drive away after having killed the new nurse and got his dad into the car.

The reporter woman is knocking on the window but the killers get her just in time before the dog walker looks up.

At the market the box killer happens to look up and sees Kevin Bacon so legs it and even though Bacon arrives before he can get in a car and drive off he still gets away.

They finally get him after a car chase but he dies in a shoutout.

Same lazy plot devices used in most episodes. Kevin Bacon's character is a terrible agent and surely, even in America, he would not be in the FBI.

It wouldn't surprise me if it turns out his doctor gf is a bad guy as well by the series end.

As someone on some program says... I'm out.

Yeah do agree much with the above how boring and predicable they turn up just as the baddie moves on, every 5 minutes lol

Chasing straws or milking cows, having said that it still makes just about ok background noise watching.

Is anyone still watching this? I have no idea why I still do as its so stupid it makes Under The Dome look like it makes total sense.

Oh let's just get somewhere a few mins too late again.
Oh let's go in single handed with no back up and lose the bad guy so he/she can kill again before we catch him/her.
Oh let's keep Ryan Hardy employed with the FBI even though he, once again, breaks rules, beats prisoners and is, again, a drunk.

Kevin Bacon must have incriminating photos of some high up TV execs.

Why am I still watching this terrible program?

I was but haven't bothered with it for the past few episodes. It used to be barely good enough to watch if you shut your mind off for 45 minutes but now it's just repeating the plots again.

I'm still watching because... We'll because I've started so I'll finish. All I can say is that around episode 9 / 10 it surprised me by showing that it could actually get even dafter. It's a complete train-wreck where the only remaining entertainment is watching it crash and burn.

I kinda like the episode with Joe and his execution.

But ep 11 where Ryan solves a 20 year old cold case in 3 minutes because he spots a van in a photo... what?

Interesting. Not really too bothered then... Joe's dead, that should have been the end of it anyway.

Having said that, there looked to be an interesting change happen, Ryan starting to enjoy killing?

You know if they made Ryan the new joe killer..... that might have worked and lasted another season or 2 I think he would make an excellent baddie just look at xmen first class:)

Exactly what I was thinking, pity, it wasn't the greatest but it kept me entertained
