That was the future of the past, the present is always the future of the past therefore the present is always the future and the future is only the future of the present which hasn't happened yet.

So the future of the past is here but the future of the present isn't since the present is the future of the past then logically the future of the present is more in the future than the future of the past.

So we are in fact not in the future... we're in the present. I hope this clears things up for you.
