Just seen this mock-up of a mobile phone, I would love this phone!

http://www.engadget.com/2008/02/25/nokias-nanotech-morph-goes-on-display-signals-melting-devices/

You can fold it to phone and unfold it to sms, and then bend it as you need to.

I would love a phone like this, to know a phone like this can be in our hands within a decade is great. It's about time we had a technology jump!:D

(yes I know we don't have this phone NOW, but the FUTURE is looking great!!!)

**UPDATE** here is a link to the video about the phone, looks awesome http://www.nokia.com/A4879144

I doubt we will get anything like that within 10 years. IMO ofcourse.

you really think we won't? ten years ago we only had 300MHz processors and 64MBs of ram, and screens that worked by smashing electrons into tiny blobs of phosphor.

right now i'm typing this on a computer running four processors, each running at 3GHz, with 4GB of ram, with a 22" screen with 5,292,000 discreet transistors, each no larger than a hair.

technology evolves at an astounding rate.

yet you're still sat in front of a screen, near a box of computer parts, typing on a piece of plastic with buttons and using a mouse to move a cursor.

Technology changes, form and design doesn't, it evolves slightly over time.

I'd find it difficult to see anything similar to 1st post being used... details of these concept type devices have been released regularly for years and nothing comes of them.

Very cool concept indeed, however I really can't see something like this being on shop shelves within 10 years. One section of the site reads "Elements of Morph might be available to integrate into handheld devices within 7 years". I'm sure these "elements" will be very basic, and only vaguley similar to what is shown in that video.

I understand technology improves at an exponential rate, but this is a very big jump. However, if they can prove me wrong then good! As I know I'd be very interested in buying one, as would most people I'm sure.
