The Gadget Show

I watch this with my 11 year old son and he loves it. I must admit that the constant summaries of things that happened 5 minutes ago are really annoying, but the list of prizes is breath taking.

..............and now I want an induction wok hob...................drool........

The show is comical.. txting while bungie jumping? WHY? It takes the good sillyness of top gear where they do mad interesting things and goes over board.

I cheered when I watched last nights repeat where they tested a £120 HDMI cable with a £20 belkin, as expected no difference at all. I bet that hurt some very blind or mislead "AV enthusiasts" :D

You're surprised - but there are tons of miss-truths out there in terms of hi-fi. I've seen double blind tests that basically conclude that there are no differences between high end amplifiers and cd players above a certain point and that the only real difference in a hi-fi system is in the speakers. But What hi-fi will tell you to spend as much as you can on a CD player, then amp, then speakers last and a ridiculous amount on cables! The whole thing is a joke.

Like a lot of shows it no longer uses proper tests and simply does things for entertainment. Top gear does this too but they also review items properly in between the silly bits. Gadget show tries too hard to be cool and just ends up looking daft and pointless. I suspect a lot of people wouldn't tune in if it wasn't for the female presenter and even she's becoming less hot by the episode!

A lot of the info on the Gadget show is simply wrong or biased. It's clear at times that anything with an Apple logo will get a bonus point simply for having that logo depending on which presenter (I'd never call them reviewers) is holding it.

Is a joke, some have more money than sense and places like certain retail stores don't help. People spending £30 a metre on speaker cable need to be shot!

Gadget Show = Light Entertainment for people who like Gadgets
Top Gear = Light Entertainment for people who like Cars

I like them both and I find it amusing how stupid some of the tests are but it is still entertaining. I do miss Tomorrows World (and Maggie Philbin...drool) for serious Science and Tech.

Oh and although Jason Bradbury ( the hyper bald guy) is a Mac fan and often does point out when Apple kit is better he is stupid enough to pay Apple the Black Tax and have the black MacBook rather than the cheaper and almost identical (aprt from HDD size) White one. Idiot.

Oh and those people who think Suzy perry is old and getting "unattractive" I mean WTF. Did you not see he in the lyrca doing the cycle race? And there was a shot of her arse FFS. I'd rather have the 10k Carbon Fibre bike though ;)

I like Suzy I think she is hot :D as for the bald guy, is he not the one that used to present that game show on Bravo?

Oh er.. The Mercenaries? Used to bring on CounterStrike, Unreal tournament etc clans on to play random game challenges. Flight simulators and stuff. Bit cheesy in places but there was nothing really on TV at the time or anything like that which had been done in the past.

I dont mind the gadget show. Its been going for 7 or 8 seasons now so they must be doing something right. Why completely change their program to meet the more hardcore folk out there? The challengers don't really establish anything 90% of the time and the reviewers are pretty short and lack detail but If we are really in the market for a specific new item, would we really rely on a tv show's review without scouting out other avenues first?

I do watch it but I don't pay too much attention to their reviews because I do my own research when buying stuff, you can tell it's produced for entertainment more than anything. I watch it to see the cool gadgets they show off and it makes a change to most of the rubbish that's on TV. I am watching more and more IPTV programs these days, if you like the gadget show then you might find these interesting:

Systm (DIY & Making Stuff) http://revision3.com/systm/

The BBC news show called click is more of a better watch, if I have to hear that bald headed egg head speak in his own language (accent) again, I will smash a spoon over his head

The comparison of The Gadget Show and Top Gear is bang on, never before have I seen so many shiny things with flashy lights undergo so much rigorous scrutineering of such a pointless magnitude.

Click is by far the best of the lot, down to earth and no nonsense, just good solid facts you need to make your own mind up.

Some recording equipment in car.

Suzi drives like a bint, gets overtaken by a passat, then she screams 'DONT CUT ME UP LIKE THAT'. Now that is recorded

Caught the latest show last night (Ch5)

Anyone know when this new series started? I always catch it with a few episodes to go, never when it's just beginning :(
