The Gainward BLISS 8800GT Golden Sample

Don't waste money on the 1gb version.

People keep saying that.

now I have seen single card tests showing little to no gain, but surely with SLI and at high res it will make a diff?

Are there any tests with people using 1GB cards in SLI? Had a quick google, but couldn't find any.

Is the Gainward Golden Sample sold by Overclockers for £129.24 the same card, but with 512 Mb? If so, it sounds like a really good buy (and a much better buy than the 1 Gb card).

Any views on how the Gainward Golden Sample compares on a) speed and b) noise with the Gigabyte 8800GT OC sold by Overclockers for £135.11?

Is there a graphics card decibel rating list anywhere on the web? that would be interesting, to me anyway :)

You could then compare them to this list which i've just found:

10dBA - Normal Breathing
20dBA - Mosquito or Rustling Leaves
30dBA - A Whisper
40dBA - A Bubbling Brook, or a Refridgerator
50dBA - Normal Conversation
60dBA - Laugher
70dBA - Vaccuum Cleaner or Hairdryer
80dBA - City Traffic or a Garbage Disposal
90dBA - Motorcycle or Lawnmower

Hope this guide has given you some insight into the practical application of considering dBA ratings when examining fans or other potentially noisy components.
