The Garage... Part 2

OMG really? A VALVER? What like... 16 valves?

It really did mean something at the time. One day direct injection diesel and variable vane turbo petrol cars will be 'omg so what' as well.
I'm still impressed by the fact that the bog standard 1.6 1989 escort would do 0-60 in 9 seconds.
Mainly I think because it had super bling petrol injection! 1.6i
No one appreciates how good they got it now!

And you wonder why everybody thinks your a ****...

I do?

I often mock the phrase 'Valver' as if 16v is something special whereas in reality, it can be found in a 1993 1.0 Nissan Micra.

16valves (and injection I presume) compared to the previous carb unit on a micra was a real step up I bet though I doubt anyone got carried away and called it a valver since it was still slow and stuff.

Maybe its because even small increases in engine technology has a notable effect on a 800kilo car whereas your average barge would need a torpedo strapped to the side to have any noticable difference to performance and 16v or not is truely of no consequence. Different points of view..

It's just the term I find amusing - certainly nothing shabby about red top powered Vauxhalls. A bog standard XE powered Cavalier will do 0-60 in just over 8 seconds. This sort of performance from that sort of car is usually in the realms of V6.

What kinda floor is in that garage?

Ours is all dusty and sh** was thinking of painting it with floor paint as that is supposed to help get rid... but that floor style looks 100 times better

Its just a concrete floor thats been painted with heavy-duty floor paint.

1 coat was enough but i gave it a 2nd coat to be sure.

Not too bad but I think you need a bit more practice to get everything spot on. As I'm a nice guy you can practice on mine if you like :)

;) :p
