The GCSE results thread

Well anyway, i think i got something like this:

Maths - A
Stats - B
Eng Lang - A*
Eng Lit - B
Physics - A*
Biology - A
Chemistry - B
History - A
ICT - Distinction?
C&M Diploma (aka the win button which means you have two exams to do when everyone else has 20) - B

...maybe

Since you will rise through he league tables your school should now receive more funding..

The way schools funding works is pretty stupid.

Really schools should have to ask for what they need, albeit a difficult feat, but it would certainly not be a case of "X amount is allocated and then dished out by each schools business manager"

Stupid thing is departments get money, and if they don't spend it they get the amount not spent taken off their next budget as they obviously didn't need it that year, our budget in the IT department for example, we spend the whole thing every year as we don't get enough, but other departments can get to the end of a financial year with £2k left or something, and they'll splash that on something they don't really need because it'd otherwise be taken off their next budget as they didn't need it, rather than giving it to a department that really needs it.

I could moan about that for hours though so i won't even bother...

We'd be lucky if anyone has anything left at the end of the year - everyone was stealing paper from Geography in the last half term :p

9 A*s and an A (German IGCSE) over here :) Chuffed

Should be good enough for Oxbridge/LSE/Imperial should I decide that's the route I want to take, still undecided as yet though.

Enough to get me to Sixth Form so I am pleased
4 B's in English,Geography,History and RS 1C in ICT a D in Maths and an E in welsh.
A little confused as I had A's in all 3 history exams, but one B in the coursework has dragged the 3 A's down to an overall B grade, I mean WTF
Very pleased considering I didn't do GCSE Sciences, missed 40% of year 9, 30% of year 10 and 18% of year 11 :) :)

Good work guys. :)

I got: A B B B A A A*A*B, 3 merits, a pass, and a 2 in cert for working life.

Got A* in chem and phys and A in maths and I'm hoping to take, maths f maths, phys and chem at 6th form so hopefully these grades don't stop me. Annoyed about not getting A* in maths because those would be my perfect results if I did. I got a low A in the year 9 module mainly because I wasn't mature enough to put any time towards it, A* in year 10 module and only an A in this years module. :(

Oh well, done now. Celebrations (or drowning of sorrows) will be in order tonight!:D

Congrats - cracking grades! Hope you're prepared for people now to immediately ask you what the A was in :p

Near death incident in Year 9 becoming Type 1 diabetic, then constantly unwell in year 10 until I had surgery to remove the cause :)

At least its a legitimate excuse :p Hope you make a full recovery if you haven't already, you should do quite well in A-levels if you still got decent grades after missing half of teaching time :)

Thanks :) Like I said, got the A for my overall German IGCSE (Though I got an A* in the Oral which is separate, so I guess I could fudge it and say 10 A*s :D )

Time to focus on extracurriculars and aim for a US scholarship I think.

Would be interesting to see if the marks have actually gone up every single year if it was done by raw marks, instead of using the UMS conversion system/boundaries which can be change
