The get it off your chest dirty music secrets thread (with examples!)

There is no such thing.

This. If your friends would mock your taste in music, get more adult friends. Although I'll admit that I've done it, and I'll bet pretty much everyone else has. My own music collection has opera, metal, pop, country, folk. I have albums by Abba, Twain, Dido, Black Sabbath (several), Lana del Ray, The Cranberries, Portishead, Radiohead, Metallica, Sandy Denny, the Cowboy Junkies (all of them), Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple (OK, most of my metal is old, and not especially hardcore). I have a couple by Madonna somewhere. No music is good because of what type it is, and none is bad for that reason either.

Completely agreed, though I took this thread for what it is, just a bit of fun.

Got 2 more..

with these 2 songs being 'odd ones out' my wider music collection can be best described as 'The 3 R's of music'.. ROCK, RAP and RAVE

I like acid, techno, hardcore, breakbeat, drum & bass, the likes of Mike Paradinas, Luke Vibert, DJ Producer, Aphex Twin, Black Sun Empire, etc, you get the idea.

My guilty pleasures?

Katy Perry and Abba (and no, I'm not gay).:D

I'm similar - like Prodigy, Chemicals, Altern8, Orb, Orbital, Baby D, Jamiroquai, Rollo & Sister Bliss (Faithless), Erick Morillo, Norman Cook (Freakpower / Fatboy Slim / Mighty Dub Katz etc), New Order.

Then my guilty pleasures?

Ace of Base! (they are often likened to Abba). Plus the cheesier mid-90s dance like Reel 2 Real, Livin' Joy, Outhere Brothers. Thing is, 20 years later and I can still listen to them. As for cheesy dance post 2000's e.g. DJ Sammy, Ultrabeat etc, then no, that steps over the line for me.

Agree with this. Too many people want to pidgeonhole themselves into liking just one type of music, they miss out on so much because of it. The randomness of my "now playing" just proves how fun different genres can be.

Hanson have always been a bit of a guilty secret of mine and this acoustic version of mmm bop is a personal fav that I've probably listened to once too often!

Roxette are another guilty pleasure I think I heard them at that time in life when music just soaks into your pores and consumes you and now I can't forget them even if it is pretty trashy Euro pop with clever lyrics and big choruses!
