The Gorge | Apple TV+

Echo the above from everyone. Mid film, not bad not great - ended up a bit derivative and weak final act. Certainly made a bit better by the cast alone though and I’m all for a definitive ending in the 202’s where everything has to leave them for a sequel or spinoffs.

It was a good film overall. The nasties in it were rather poor though as was the mid and end portions of the film. I gave it a 7/10 in the 'What did you watch last night?' thread.
I’m confused, it was good overall but the mid and end sections were poor as were the nasties?! So most the film was poor but good overall  :p

I enjoyed it, flawed but interesting concept. I think they should have kept the contents of the gorge hidden for longer. Was a bit CGI heavy too. Think both leads were good though.

Yeah there was no need for the reveal when it happened - they could easily have kept *things* moving around in the dark and fog with the sentry guns, etc. firing at them without showing anything definite and kept things interesting far longer (and ultimately come up with something better). I knew at that point it was going to quickly descent into predictable and nothing we've not seen before from there on.

Without going into spoilers for those that haven’t seen it, I enjoyed it overall despite wanting to know more about the gorge itself. I’d say the same for Ghosted also on AppleTV+, which I enjoyed even though it could have been a whole lot more midway through.

Watchable - just

Once the action started it felt like a load of cutscenes from a game spliced together

Could have been a lot better imo

I also really enjoyed this but felt it was a bit too hasty with reveals. Could have been kept the suspense longer. I’m now a fan of ATJ though :p

I enjoyed it and the 2hr plus runtime didn't drag at all. It was also nice to see a proper ending for a change, without leaving it setup for a sequel. I am probably biased as I've been an ATJ fan ever since The Witch, way back in 2015.

Similar thoughts here, we watched it last night. It's not going to set the world alight but a decent enough way to chill out for 2 hours.
