The Great Big FFP Debate

I hate how Newcastle have been dragged into this.

If Mason Mount can be sold for 50M then Elliot Anderson for 35 is fair (he's young, high ceiling and actually plays in the PL). Minteh is a highly rated talent and multiple clubs offered the asking price, he turned down a move to France that was higher than Brighton's.

Mason Mount is an outliner though, he can be used as an example to why any player is ridiculously over priced. Even if he has the added bonus of being an England player.

PSR is only there to keep the Sky6 at the top and not let others challenge them.

To a certain extent yes but it’s also turned around into a way for most clubs to have a great excuse to increase ticket prices, try to get rid of season tickets or get rid of concession tickets. This is all happening right now and it wouldn’t surprise me if clubs start using the dynamic prices that ticketmasters have used for these oasis tickets.

Manchester United have reported a net loss of £113.2m in the year to 30 June, their latest accounts show.

It follows losses of £28.7m in 2022-23 and £115.5m in 2021-22, and their latest figures take total losses over the past five years to over £370m.

Despite the results, United are not expected to breach the Premier League's profit and sustainability rules because not all spending goes against their calculations and clubs can claim allowances known as 'add backs'.

From the beeb. Not expected? Either they are or they aren’t surely? Just goes to show how much they make it up as they go along.
