1. The Stone Roses - Saw out the worst of the late 80s and hearlded the coming of "Brit Pop"
2. Paul Weller - I consider the The Jam before my time (though I listen to them) but Weller was influential in his own right.
3. Blur - Many have put Oasis down but I think Blur were the more off the wall and original group. Oasis were already "Standing on the Shoulders of Giants"
4. Primal Scream - Similar vain to Blur, something new, something different
5. Massive Attack - Trip hop, Unfinished Symphony nuff said

This one encompasses all the bands since Chuck Berry first picked up a guitar Again, top five.
