I member having to hit Fermi 470s in sli wasn't great until the top card died and that was that no more sli for me was great when it worked and crap when it didn't lol.
I really liked my TNT2 Ultra and the original GeForce 256 with T&L
GeForce 256 DDR was the point at which I started to get into PC gaming proper.
I recall the 9700 Pro being the first card that actually made AA & AF feasible options
And I doubt you'd see one again the way things are going.Voodoo Banshee was like being poked in the eyes with the future. I've never had an upgrade like that since.
Given the maturity of fabrication technology the 1080ti left me blown away after it replaced my 780ti, earlier generations were boosted by much larger node shrinks and the widespread adoption of FinFETs. I looked up my old OcUK invoice and I paid about the same for the 3GB 780ti as I did the 1080ti.What makes you say that? Is it value, performance or something else? I never owned it, I was broke back then and only had a 6600gt. When I look at benchmarks, on average both the 1080ti and 8800gtx are double the performance of the cards they replaced so I'm unsure why some people say the 8800gtx is better
Nobody that I have seen has yet mentioned the GeForce 4 4200ti, which was close to the performance of its bigger brothers the 4400ti and 4600ti..
I would put the 3080 fe in too but the mining craze, obliterated what charisma the card had, dont get me wrong launch price was amazing, really made nvidia look like the good guys, until things went south (fast)
