That's a huge increase in the graphics score for windows 10 that is, 27k for a single card is 6k higher than the top cards in the firestrike thread.

The single GTX 980 Ti is paired with a 4790K clocked at 4.6GHz, whereas the 970 SLI setup only has a 4690K at 4.3GHz The graphics score for the 970s is actually higher.

Yeah forgot that I didnt have the i7 with 970 SLI. Still the 980ti is not being overshadowed much by the 970SLI score.

Still prefer 980ti over 980SLI and 970SLI it just seems a lot better in 4k games.
I fired up Far Cry 4 and it is a lot smoother.

Is that % increase being seen in games on Windows 10?

No the score is similar to what I got in Windows 8.1.

These are latest drivers on Windows 10. 10 is absolutely awesome, looks slick. Fast as hell.

Worth saying we've got a Zotac Zbox en760 (GTX 860M, i5 dual core / 4 thread) which would stutter in games like BF4 etc. Upgraded to Windows 10 and stutter is gone FPS are about the same but no drops, much smoother experience. Windows 10 def has a positive effect, even in older DX11 games it seems.

My 980ti arrived today. Everything's plugged in and ready to go. Just waiting for some games to download. Yeehawww!

I'm a bit excited lol :D

Not convinced my card is stable now. I'm downclocking for stability in pcars... 1500 is possible for a bench..but some games really don't like such a high oc.

I've had 1 crash in TR3...none in BF4.

Heaven runs for an hour at 1462 with fans at 100% to stop the boost backing off no problem.

Glad to help.

Also just finished setting up and ordering these, finally a competitor to the EVGA Hybrid and if you ask me this looks far superior, faster clocks and LED lights. :D

ORDER NOW

Gibbo,

Are theses still arriving at OCUK this Friday; I have one on order :D

cheers

I thought for dual cards mate that you had to use the two top most slots on the M6E for sli?
I remember asking about this on mlg as I had toyed with the idea of getting that board.

Top 2 for 16x16 recommended - otherwise it's 8x8.

I was told that you couldn't/shouldn't - but I used it that way without issue.:)

Ahh, typical lol. Had the opportunity to move over to the M6E for virtually pennies after selling the formula at that time. From what I've seen too the difference between dual x16 over dual x8 is so small you wouldn't even notice it. But I'm now toying with the idea of moving to X99.

Thought about X99, but just can't take the plunge.

Just got my Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980Ti, and the coil whine is pretty bad.

You can tell it's coil whine because it goes away when you enter menus, and comes back when you go back into the game.

Not had a card with this before, and not paid as much for a card before, so tempted to return it.

The only plus is I can't hear it while gaming normally as I wear headphones.

Surprised that Gigabyte thinks this is acceptable for a piece of top-range gaming hardware. :(

I would advise anyone not to get a G1. I will not be purchasing a gigabyte branded card again.

It might not be just the card it might be your PSU not upto the job.

For me, the coil whine was coming from an old PSU. I thought it was the 980 Ti as the whining got louder in menus etc but when I listened closely with a roll of paper I found out the cause. Getting a new PSU eliminated virtually all coil whine.
