The Happening

I went to see it on Friday night...

My PERSONAL opinion, is that it's had too much hype, and it's one of those movies, that someone has thought of an idea, and put together a movie about it, and they really shouldn't have.

It's a wierd movie, wasn't the best thing ever, but wasn't bad either really, 3 stars in my eyes, attracted a full cinema on the night of release in Colchester, so I suppose it can't be all bad...

I don't bother with his films anymore. Since the intrigue is always considerably greater than the payoff, it's much easier to just look up the ending online. Which, having done so it's safe to say he's lost the plot with this one.

I was going to watch this one today, but having seen a few reviews I'm not going to bother.. pretty poor apparently :(

Having liked all his previous films I went enthusiastically on friday eve, the trailers looked great................

However quite simply one of the most disappointing movies I've ever seen at the cinema, the film never got going, Mark Wahlbergs acting atrocious, lead woman annoying as hell, and the ending was utter *****

His other films are in a different league to this tripe, it's so bad it shouldn't have even gone straight to DVD lol

Couldn't agree more. The actual premise of the film is nonscence coupled with the bad acting means I would strongly recomend people not to waste their time.

I tossed a coin... Heads - 'The Happening'... Tails - 'The Incredible Hulk'...

BTW I just got back from 'The Incredible Hulk' so guess which side of the coin I got!...

Plus I'd begrudge spending £7 quid on a film less than 1hr:50/2hr so at 90mins from what I've seen in reviews I got a good flip from that £2 coin!.. :o

Terrible terrible film. Felt like the director had no idea what way he wanted the film to go.

Really thought it was bad all round.

Went to see this last night and oh my god...

Was a terrible film from start to finish and much like The Village you basically find out half way-ish what is going on etc so the film doesn't really have to go on, yet they insist on dragging the film out even more.

I personally would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when he came up for the plot for this film and thought it would be a good idea. I think he just likes seeing his name in front of things so will make anything now days.

Mark Wahlberg is a better actor than that.

Pretty bad film overall.
