The Happy thread - Positive posts only :-)

i tried to cheer up some peaple with 2 jokes, and im hoping to have a positive chat with some one later, which may result in something getting shredded..

My wife just phoned me, and the conversation went like this:
Her: “You know that Gladiator movie that I got you for Christmas…?”
Me: “Yeah.”
Her: “Wind it forward one hour, 16 minutes and 28 seconds.”
Me: “Right, I’ve done that.”
Her: “Okay, you see the gladiator at the front fighting the lion…?”
Me: “I can see that, yeah.”
Her: “Just behind him, there are two gladiators having a sword fight with each other…?”
Me: “Okay, I see them.”
Her: “Well, behind those two, on the left-hand side of the screen, there’s a gladiator holding a spear…?”
Me: “Yes…! I can see him.”
Her: “Right…! Those are the sandals I want for my birthday.”

I went to get a haircut the other day, and the barber kept asking me the same question over and over.
As he’s cutting my hair, he says, “So, how’s your mother-in-law doing?”
I shrugged and said, “She’s fine.”
Five minutes later, he asks again, “So, how’s your mother-in-law?”
Now I’m getting annoyed, but I answer, “I told you, she’s fine.”
A few minutes after that, he asks yet again, “So, how is your mother-in-law doing?”
I finally snap: “Dude, I already told you twice—she’s fine! Why do you keep asking about my mother-in-law?”
He chuckles and says, “Oh, don’t worry, it’s not because I actually care. Every time I mention your mother-in-law, your hair stands straight up… and it makes it a lot easier for me to cut it!”

i wish these were mine but from Reddit at least

Not long to go now until BST returns, which will make me super happy! :D
The dark evenings are just too depressing man. While some will say that GMT is necessary, it will still always be depressing to barely have a day of light.

So yes, BST is on its way and I'm glad! The recent lighter evenings have been wonderful.

I prefer light mornings but I'm happy as long as the sun is shining and it's hot!

Enjoying my week away in Yorkshire, been down some caves (Stump cross caverns), up to the "Finest view in England" and today been to an almost 900 year old Abbey ruins (Fountains Abbey).
Had some great food, fantastic experiences and quality time with my wife.

Sadly coming to an end and back home tomorrow, but will take back plenty of good memories
Sorry to be going back to an old message, but I remember replying to this last year as Yorkshire has been on my list to visit for a while!

Whereabouts in Yorkshire did you guys end up staying? Just doing some research as I may head up there in the summer for a nice break away.

We stayed not far from Ripon, in a self catering lodge, which was an ideal base to get out and about from

My son had his first tooth (milk tooth) removed today, the dentist said he was one of her best patients and he replied with "You are the best dentist"
And now we are jamming to the Ender man song you YT lol

So my positive for today :
1. 3 corny jokes for OCUK which are family safe
  • I complained to my son, "It’s a shame nothing is built in the U.S. anymore! The T.V. we just bought says, “Built in Antenna” and to be perfectly honest..."
"I don’t even know where that is!"

  • Two antennas met on a roof, fell in love, and got married.
The wedding wasn't anything special, but the reception was fantastic.
  • What did the right column say to the left column?
I don't have to justify myself to you!

from Reddit because i'm not that funny in real life :D
Ba'Dum

2. i tried to send a positive message to 2 friends having a bit of a tough time, so they know they are cared for. - i'll be married to one of them by end of year.. (self delusional happiness counts right?)

3 . i'm about to make an Omelette mixed Veg & Onion sandwich for lunch kinda health. wish i had some cheese to go with it also..

Got first accessible holidays in years booked the other day and today I booked a place with WetWheels for a fun accessible powerboat trip while we are away. My son and I will love it as we both love being on the water, not so sure about my wife though .

Second karate class tonight and the shihan told me I'd executed a turn perfectly- "most people take years to get it that smooth".

I'm pleased with that!

You'll be kicking 360 and hopping around without putting a foot down in no time at all!

I did 3 years of kickboxing, but the instructor was a heavyweight karate competitor before moving to Teakwando then Thai kickboxing. It's a good social hobby too.

We spent the Easter break at Waiheke Island. Rented a nice place a stone's throw from Onetangi Beach

We had Sunday lunch here and it was rad. We drove there and should not be mistaken for the three families who helicoptered in, or docked their fancy boats at the mooring. Mazda CX-9, represent y0!

A beautiful way to spend some time with great people and thoroughly recommended!

e: you can flying fox in to the restaurant too, if you're a mentalist and have a 50/50 view on whether dying or eating lunch are comparable outcomes. Wife and kids did it (lunch, not falling) while I remained staunchly at the bar to ensure continuity of service.

Had such a run of luck this week, just as it got sunnier and warmer, I got the opportunity to be outdoors and do what I want for a couple of weeks instead of something else. Now off to eat a shish kebab. Then I will chill, possibly get a nap in before going out this evening.
