I saw a new largish update was released, as a critic, this image pulls me back in and I hate you for it
Time to reinstall and check it out maybe.
It gets updated like that once a month, the update cadence for it since early 2025 is bonkers and that came to a head in the previous patch where the whole thing folded like a house of cards, Star Citizen has always had bugs but they were never too serious and you could work around them.
Until Jun when all that updating without proper Q&A testing broke it completely, this months patch has been purely fixes and it is much better, but be warrned, this is a live service game while in development, normally games get made, bug fixed, polished... all behind closed doors and then realeased.
With this when a new bit of content or tech is developed it gets rammed straight in to the live build, many people don't understand this, others find it baffling but that is the agreement they made with us in return for funding it.
I wish they would do more robust Q&A.... but given that we are doing most of the Q&A it would slow things down if they did it more "proper"
As for how long its taking, many games that are "released" have 5% the depth, breadth and size of this unfinished game, so... yeah.
