***The High-Res Screenshot Thread!***

Ah yes you can customise the HUG, I just left it on default as it didn't really bother me and once I am ranked up and familiar I will just reduce it all down.

@mrk you tried the REANIMAL demo? Thought you might appreciate the aesthetics. The sound is great is as well so might be good with your headphones.

Just a few quick screen grabs.

I have yes,. as a game it's kinda cool and the sound/mechanics are very nice but it has some technical issues with performance for what it vually has to offer but that's UE5 optimisations again I guess.

My take on it from elsewhere:

As this runs Unreal Engine 5, it is not very well optimised. I have an RTX 4090 system and this game, with the simplest of game worlds that are static camera scenes, uses 99% of the GPU at all times leading to a lot of heat and fan noise, not even Battlefield 6 in Overkill at 4K does that. On top of that it cannot run above 100fps with any AA mode, average framerate is 77fps give or take.

I played some of the demo with ultra settings, there is no DLSS/FSR option, just TAA/TSR/FXAA and Off. TSR is not as crisp as TAA, FXAA is obviously soft and off is jaggy, even at 4K. All of them offer sub 80fps on average in Ultra on a 4090. That is outstandingly bad.

Add to that the game has frequent traversal and shader comp stutter every time you enter a new area.

I can only recommend it for the gameplay is quite fun and visually it is pleasing, not graphically "wow", but the artstyle I mean and as a demo. But there is no way I want to play the full game with technical issues like that. For reference, Battlefield 6 runs at over 150fps in the "Overkill" gfx mode at 4K, and that's with 64 players on a server and all the CPU heavy things going on and destruction. There is no excuse in 2025 where a game that has none of those demands on CPU and GPU should be running so poorly.

If you want to run this on higher settings, you will need a high end system.

I'll check my FPS because I never noticed any shader stutter or traversal issues.

EDIT: Yup! 50-70 FPS on High. Plays fine though given it isn't FPS. No stutter that I can tell from the Demo.

Definitely shader/traversal hitches seen here on the demo though, not game breaking but enough to be observed in the frametime graph.

One of the best games to drop after just getting a 500Hz monitor - running the game in the MPRT mode, for extra motion clarity.

I turned off motion blur also - some of the set pieces even 10 minutes in are so over the top :D last time I played Ninja Gaiden was 20+ years ago.

Absolutely love that ship but can't get one now unless they run the expedition again apparently. That is the starborn runner isn't it?

Yeah I found it by accident when I was playing around. I checked some random option about check for rewards in the anomaly and it was available even though I've never done an expedition.
There is a way I can gift you it and also still keep it, nothing untoward.

Meet up at a space station.

I sell/exchange your ship to an NPC.

Before NPC leaves, your friend talks to them and buys the ship.

Stay close to the Phoenix and make sure that your friend actually got it

Once all is done you can reload the restore point save and you will have yours back without issues

Make sure to don't create a new restore save after landing in the space station or any other place you choose for the exchange

So you'd still need the funds for it though if course. Though I also saw somewhere where apparently it's free, but I don't see how that can be if you're getting it from an NPC.

Id check the anamoly first though.

I have no expeditions unclaimed at the anomaly so no way to get it other than some very nice chap trading it.

I have close to 1bn cash and 70k ish nanites so I would be able to buy it as long as you are willing to take the risk of it not coming back....I'd hate for that to happen.

I keep trying to get a good looking living ship but so far mine always look like testes, S class testes but testes no less.

Sorry to derail the thread, maybe we should move to the nms thread instead?

Star Citizen.

RSI Perseus. The big turret, actually two of them, one underneath is called Goliath. Perseus - Goliath.... you get the reference.

More on it later.

I didn't actually have time to do much, i have been playing it rather than messing about... but i managed to get a little something.

I like this ship, i like the idea of a 'big gun' boat but not necessarily ship that is big, unless we are doing org stuff.

Its 100.5 Metres long, 42.2 Metres wide, 23.3 Metres high and 4,181 metric tonnes.

The one in the showroom has a different paint on it, its why it looks different, the one i have has the standard dark grey. Interior is in the video. Edit: i'll upload the interior video when Youtube decides its figured out why "processing is taking longer than expected" and just pretending the browser can't play it, any browser.

Cool ad for it too.
