My main problem is industrial warehouses late game, e.g. I have huge food production, when zoning new industrial zones, it will create some warehouses for products/goods I have a lot of excess production off, which creates ridiculous traffic, like literally 100's of trucks to 1 warehouse, clogging up the roads:
You can not do anything against it, the chokepoint is the entrance to the building itself, all you can do is increase the buffer zones by increasing capacity towards the building, but this will not reduce the congestion time wise to this specific building, only potentially length wise for conflicting other traffic.
All these 100's of trucks over miles and miles want to fill this one warehouse up, coming from 100's of different other industrial lots scattered across the city. This seems to happen to every good I produce more of than I consume.
I just bulldoze the warehouses instead. Traffic is better left to go directly to neighboring connections or commercial zones from the producing lot rather than a completely waste of time and space warehouse.
Also the stock intnl airport, cargo train station and port have ridiculous single chokepoints/too few entrances and attract 10x more traffic than they can handle (even if your surrounding network is perfect), the game is a bit stupid that trucks prefer to choose that route abroad rather than picking one of the 10's of highways that have spare capacity to neighboring connections.
But, this is still the best game out the traffic sim wise, all the alternatives are far worse. Cities Skylines 2 traffic behavior is vastly superior to the BS CS1 traffic behavior.
