So far i am predicting i will use about 80gb of data when the month ends.

Here is my data thus far.

Edit: should have put my allowance in..mine is unlimited.

Edit

I have used 79.35gb in total.

That's impressive, do you actually use Wi-Fi anywhere?

Presumably you're uploading content to YouTube there and not actually managing to watch that much content per month on a mobile device? :p

I use on average 18GB, but have a 30GB plan for flexibility if I need to upload content.

I never use wifi hardly, i just like to abuse mobile data you see i am with three.

As you can see youtube and amazon music tops the list, i do a lot of streaming.

500mb of data as i check quickly lasts about 15-30 minutes with me here or about 5 or 10gb a day roughly.

worst "I use loads of data, look at me" thread ever.

Why do you abuse mobile data (your words there) ? This is why we can't have nice things.

I am aware of that about not having nice things, i mean it is like this, someone in the past abused speed did like 150mph and then after that the speed limit law came into an effect.

Also i am testing three with their tolerance regarding my data limit and yeah look at me but i ain't the most heavy data user there.

I remember someone who did way more data usage than me and someone bypassed the tethering limit and did 170gb in a month on three that is.

Also i admit i don't work for three but am grateful for their generous data policy and have said people should try three on a 1 month contract basis due to quality of service with all you can eat data, due to the hate on their facebook page.

In the end it is three's network if they want to remove that nice thing called all you can eat data then they should have thought twice before introducing all you can eat data, looking back my actual data usege on my facebook page is around 70-80gb a month.

In one instant three removed their one plan offering with unlimited tethering see here > http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.ph...stomers-wave-goodbye-unlimited-tethering.html .

They do have a speed throttling process but with me on three unlike giffgaff my speeds have been consistant averageing 20-50mbps and yeah i also thought about making a thread about peoples 3 or 4 g data speed.

Am interested what other people use data wise and not apart of some research company or whatever because there wasn't a thread like this.

You are not alone in hating people who abuse the network, but my usage is genuine and do not purposely waste data as in wasting data i stream what i want too stream treating it the same as i do with my unlimited home broadband, unfortunately it makes 500mb of data look puny, it take up that much bandwidth and you would never know on home broadband about how much we actually use and also we take unlimited on home broadband for granted.

Three is best for data 2017 award here > http://www.three.co.uk/terms-conditions not surprised.

All you can eat data review says this > All you can eat data gives you worry free internet use. Even if you used your phone for every minute of every day you could only use, subject to TrafficSense™, around 1000GB each month. We may use this cap to identify inappropriate use of the service, such as commercial use, which isn’t permitted under our terms and conditions.

Throttling & Traffic Management
Three has a traffic management policy known as TrafficSense. According to their key facts indicator, P2P file-sharing (e.g. BitTorrent) is slowed down on the network between 3pm and midnight each day. They also use video optimisation technology (for streaming sites like YouTube, videos are only downloaded at the rate at which you’re able to watch them):

We allocate a fixed amount of network bandwidth to P2P file-sharing activities and to tethering activities at peak times to manage network congestion and provide the best possible experience for the greatest number of users.

We use video optimisation to change the way video content is streamed to your device to make it play better. We use it to improve your streaming experience if our network is busy where you are.

The key factors indicator confirms that your speeds won’t be reduced for using too much data (see the section “Is traffic management used in relation to heavy users?”).

Lets keep this constructive.

But why do you watch YouTube at home on your phone? Do you not have a TV?

In actual fact i have googles chrome cast device which displays your phones screen on the tv, so if i ever want to watch youtube on the big screen i'll be using chrome cast which uses wireless whichever, i know i use 4g so that is why i am after a phone that does wireless screen mirroring and on top of my list it has to be the oneplus 5 so i will be getting that soon.

Also amazon fire tv as well as smart tv's.

Why do i watch youtube on the phone, because it is more compact than a laptop, i used to use a laptop moving around watching youtube but now it is a smartphone and yea why not use wireless well i don't because i have already stated this but i want to be used to the 4g service that three provides.

My plan regarding this is that if i am in a remote area i have some creature comfort i.e. unlimited smartphone useing wireless display or miracast and watch tv or music or whatever on that, i do have a tv app on my phone so i will be using that or just on the phone.

As well as turning the smartphone into a laptop such as http://www.sentio.com/ or https://www.digitaltrends.com/compu...mobile-convergence-notebook-now-on-indiegogo/

Since having unlimited data with Three about 5 years ago I use on average between 15 - 40gb a month.

I don't store music on my phone that is streamed all the time, Never connected to WiFi (whats the point when my 4G is faster?), Watch the odd youtube videos, A lot of the data comes from watching football when I am around friends houses.

The reason I stay with Three on unlimited? Peace of mind of never going over limits & "future proofing" my usage, Lets be honest in years to come 5-10gb that companies offer nowadays won't be realistic for my use.

Same here, knowing my actual usage i stick with three as well being realistic , the other provider such as vodafone do a 60gb package but costs way more than three.

I also use tethering for my brothers ps4 because his broadband is 3mbps whereas three is like 17mbps so yeah, my brother by the way does not live in the same house as me.

There is little point in charging for data, once the infrastructure is installed additional data doesn't cause additional costs. All data may as well be charged at a flat rate, although I guess that may cause increased usage..

I think it is all to do with mobile capacity me thinks here yet i know nothing about mobile networks.

I admit i thought the data would have costed something.

no wifi, public or otherwise at work sites and most shifts I'm there in case of emergencies so just have to sit waiting for phone calls. Can easily be several Gb a shift with netflix, youtube etc.
one way or another this is going to change in the next month or two when I change jobs.

I see three are soon going to be offering a service #gobinge where Netflix and other streaming services are not going to count towards your data limit.

https://www.facebook.com/ThreeUK/videos/1748539638494315/ there is the binge video.

This. Some of you lot are mental. Then again I just don't understand YouTube. Is that because I'm over 30? :p I'd rather watch proper TV programmes, what is there actually on YT that keeps people entertained for so long?

I use <1GB every month but I have a 2GB limit with Giffgaff. Hardly ever use data because I'm either at home (wifi) at work (wifi) or commuting on the tube. Which means no signal, which means all my podcasts, music etc are pre-downloaded. On the occasions I've tried to stream music whilst out and about it's never worked terribly well. I think I've managed to watch a couple of film trailers at the end of my commute where it's above ground. But the signal there is flakey so I generally get the rage from buffering..

As for youtube, with me it is all about the music especially songs i don't have, and as of late since i don't go out i just use wifi now, i'm done abusing data ;-).

Only going to use mobile data/4g as a backup and when i have no wifi connection, when i am outside that is.

I as of late have done 13gb of mobile data and 14.60gb of wifi data.

Some people need not to criticize others data usage and keep it constructive.

People who have done under a little of their data usage i think they hardly use the phone or use an app that hardly uses their mobile data.

As for Youtube my friend the stuff they put on tv is usually crap in my opinion unless it is a documentary or music or educational programs, whereas youtube isn't varying on what you watch on youtube.

Or repeats on tv regarding the tv program, so yea i rather stick with youtube, cheers.

As for youtube have a taste of this > https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0B2N--abls https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E0v2snlIC-8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6oUz1v17Uo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WGooQ8yYC0c https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JImcvtJzIK8 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qmlrGq66tCY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooLO2xeyJZA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79L3eJM605A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43qp2TUNEFY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8fvTxv46ano&t=153s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q16KpquGsIc https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yRgzLAmbuws https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hvQpbBjMpIk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ym93F5iBUIQ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qCPzHKvwzoY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aPhzN5D3g7I https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F_MpgMCyuTg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8jBR7Wq6oY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nlYlNF30bVg https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qN72LEQnaU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msSc7Mv0QHY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjanqQ0ANxY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOyRBqkiRz0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRf_qUT_8cA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HmASDp7w-VY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3S4dBk4E1g https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE-1RPDqJAY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rvYZRskNV3w https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QXIv7VLzEzU https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmYVfyqzu4Y https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1vJfWOtkzEA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmYVfyqzu4Y&t=58s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qX7nFxFjC0A https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lj__bVS5uPE

Should give you an idea of my music taste i can go on and on and on but i will leave this here regarding what music i listen too whether you care or not :0),

And yes look at me :0), i mean who gives a damn i take it for granted that anyone doesn't really care in a non judgmental way but i was proven wrong people out their do care.

They should ignore unless they have a personal problem with it but i love sharing thing like this as well as knowing of other peoples data or whatever, and i don't care if i get ignored or whatever apart from people who say look at me :) so i state it and yes that is my motive.

As for respect i give full respect to people (anyone) as in brotherly love but not sex, whereas the saying goes to respect a little, the same as i treat my self which is full respect.

I am a full believer in this and yes this is off topic but yeah https://100777.com/spiritual/beings_having_a_physical_experience .

No pun intended.

Coconut888 gets the crown for using so much and not me :-)

By the way Frozen, they do have a traffic shaping policy, regarding that problem your on about.

Coconut888 is that by tethering or just on your phone?

No abuse here I stream Netflix 3 hrs eachday in 4k that around 7-9gb each hr in 4k.
I watch 1hr youtube travelling to work in the morning.
Coming home from work I stream Spotify
Premium 320kbps
So 246gb Data is very easy not even trying at all. lol

I know exactly what you mean about how high the usage can be i also experience that when i stream youtube but not 4k.

Agreed. Although having said that I would gladly ditch my home connection and use 4G/5G if it was reliable. Currently stuck with Virgin due to landlords not installing a TV aerial (I would be happy with Freeview) and I find paying for a TV package utterly ludicrous.

Too be honest i don't feel comfortable using my 4g data plan like that, just doesn't feel right and yea may as well take home broadband for granted.

I see you live in London, have you seen this webpage it is for londoners like your self.

https://www1.relish.net/athome home 4g unlimited internet connection only for people who live in london.

You should give relish a go there scam, could ask them a question about it being reliable.

I've not heard good things about Relish to be honest. I knew someone who used it for a while and got terrible speeds. Changed to Three or EE and it was way better.

Okay well that isn't on the agenda then :/.

As for freeview you say you cannot install a tv aerial lol due to landlords eh..does that mean indoor aerials and outdoor aerials then because i think you have done every option about that.

The only thing i can think of is yourself getting a mobile phone that supports miracast (to broadcast the phones screen to the tv leaving your 4g data connection in tact) and getting a three contract for unlimited data and then download tvplayer mobile phone app on the phone and there you go, freeview on your tv.

Actually no, three do go binge and they support tvplayer so go with a cheap contract that supports go binge, you don't need an unlimited data plan for that then.

Unless i am mistaken, you can get google chromecast and use your wifi connection will work with any phone, it will use your broadband wireless connection instead of 4g so yeah, can get freeview that way as well then.

The picture could be crap but i find it to be okay really, because i have watched tv via smartphone and using chromecast to get my mobile phones screen on tv and watch it on tv and it was okay.

Just an alternative for you to watch tv :0) there are bound to be some more solutions for this as well then.

Chromecast is easy enough to set up, you will need too have your smartphone connected to your wifi then select connect to chromecast whatever the name of it is via the cast screen option on your smartphone.

Then it is a breeze really, easy to setup, it will get wifi details from your phone so that the chromecast is also connected to wifi, and then your away and in anycase the purpose if you don't know about chromecast is that it is solely for your smartphone, to be controlled via smartphone inter connected with wifi so it won't eat your mobile data plan either.

Your phone has to be connected solely to your wifi, otherwise it won't work.

You will be able to watch tv channels from mobile phone app called tv player as i have already stated and anything else netflix, amazon video, youtube you name it and only costs 30 quid.

Hopefully your internet connection will be fast enough for that.

That is if you want to use it in this way :p.

edit

My mistake it is not only just for smartphone as it says here smartphone, tablet and laptop.

Facepalm
