The how much data do you use thread.

I'm on unlimited with Three, the last 3 months i have used over 50GB per month, watching Youtube etc. I also don't connect to my wifi at home or anywhere else unless i have no signal.

worst "I use loads of data, look at me" thread ever.

Why do you abuse mobile data (your words there) ? This is why we can't have nice things.

I am aware of that about not having nice things, i mean it is like this, someone in the past abused speed did like 150mph and then after that the speed limit law came into an effect.

Also i am testing three with their tolerance regarding my data limit and yeah look at me but i ain't the most heavy data user there.

I remember someone who did way more data usage than me and someone bypassed the tethering limit and did 170gb in a month on three that is.

Also i admit i don't work for three but am grateful for their generous data policy and have said people should try three on a 1 month contract basis due to quality of service with all you can eat data, due to the hate on their facebook page.

In the end it is three's network if they want to remove that nice thing called all you can eat data then they should have thought twice before introducing all you can eat data, looking back my actual data usege on my facebook page is around 70-80gb a month.

In one instant three removed their one plan offering with unlimited tethering see here > http://www.ispreview.co.uk/index.ph...stomers-wave-goodbye-unlimited-tethering.html .

They do have a speed throttling process but with me on three unlike giffgaff my speeds have been consistant averageing 20-50mbps and yeah i also thought about making a thread about peoples 3 or 4 g data speed.

Am interested what other people use data wise and not apart of some research company or whatever because there wasn't a thread like this.

You are not alone in hating people who abuse the network, but my usage is genuine and do not purposely waste data as in wasting data i stream what i want too stream treating it the same as i do with my unlimited home broadband, unfortunately it makes 500mb of data look puny, it take up that much bandwidth and you would never know on home broadband about how much we actually use and also we take unlimited on home broadband for granted.

Three is best for data 2017 award here > http://www.three.co.uk/terms-conditions not surprised.

All you can eat data review says this > All you can eat data gives you worry free internet use. Even if you used your phone for every minute of every day you could only use, subject to TrafficSense™, around 1000GB each month. We may use this cap to identify inappropriate use of the service, such as commercial use, which isn’t permitted under our terms and conditions.

Throttling & Traffic Management
Three has a traffic management policy known as TrafficSense. According to their key facts indicator, P2P file-sharing (e.g. BitTorrent) is slowed down on the network between 3pm and midnight each day. They also use video optimisation technology (for streaming sites like YouTube, videos are only downloaded at the rate at which you’re able to watch them):

We allocate a fixed amount of network bandwidth to P2P file-sharing activities and to tethering activities at peak times to manage network congestion and provide the best possible experience for the greatest number of users.

We use video optimisation to change the way video content is streamed to your device to make it play better. We use it to improve your streaming experience if our network is busy where you are.

The key factors indicator confirms that your speeds won’t be reduced for using too much data (see the section “Is traffic management used in relation to heavy users?”).

Lets keep this constructive.

500MB

I have most of my music on a 128GB Micro SD card so I've never had to steam or anything like that, and I only watch stuff on YouTube at home. Plus the places I go to tend to have free WiFi anyway.

My last 3 months bills on three uk April 90gb,May 86gb,June 75gb

My Virgin media 200meg fibre usage on usenet is April 14TB, May 7TB,June 18TB Downloaded this month my heaviest.

But why do you watch YouTube at home on your phone? Do you not have a TV?

In actual fact i have googles chrome cast device which displays your phones screen on the tv, so if i ever want to watch youtube on the big screen i'll be using chrome cast which uses wireless whichever, i know i use 4g so that is why i am after a phone that does wireless screen mirroring and on top of my list it has to be the oneplus 5 so i will be getting that soon.

Also amazon fire tv as well as smart tv's.

Why do i watch youtube on the phone, because it is more compact than a laptop, i used to use a laptop moving around watching youtube but now it is a smartphone and yea why not use wireless well i don't because i have already stated this but i want to be used to the 4g service that three provides.

My plan regarding this is that if i am in a remote area i have some creature comfort i.e. unlimited smartphone useing wireless display or miracast and watch tv or music or whatever on that, i do have a tv app on my phone so i will be using that or just on the phone.

As well as turning the smartphone into a laptop such as http://www.sentio.com/ or https://www.digitaltrends.com/compu...mobile-convergence-notebook-now-on-indiegogo/

Since having unlimited data with Three about 5 years ago I use on average between 15 - 40gb a month.

I don't store music on my phone that is streamed all the time, Never connected to WiFi (whats the point when my 4G is faster?), Watch the odd youtube videos, A lot of the data comes from watching football when I am around friends houses.

The reason I stay with Three on unlimited? Peace of mind of never going over limits & "future proofing" my usage, Lets be honest in years to come 5-10gb that companies offer nowadays won't be realistic for my use.

Same here, knowing my actual usage i stick with three as well being realistic , the other provider such as vodafone do a 60gb package but costs way more than three.

I also use tethering for my brothers ps4 because his broadband is 3mbps whereas three is like 17mbps so yeah, my brother by the way does not live in the same house as me.

One thing I don't do is tethering, I know people have their uses for it but most people abuse it to high heaven hence why we have traffic shaping. Plus now they think they can charge more cause they are giving me 4gb of tethering usage which I've never asked for.

Mobile data should be just that for mobiles.

There is little point in charging for data, once the infrastructure is installed additional data doesn't cause additional costs. All data may as well be charged at a flat rate, although I guess that may cause increased usage..

I think it is all to do with mobile capacity me thinks here yet i know nothing about mobile networks.

I admit i thought the data would have costed something.

About 500MB/month. Have a 1GB plan.

I download all my podcasts, for listening on my commute, via home wifi, and only watch video on wifi. If I'm away for a few days, I'll download from Netflix or Prime or YT, or rip a DVD in advance.

Data use is almost exclusively for internet browsing. And Whatsapp (not that I use it all that much), I guess.

I have a rude amount of data which I never use all of. My phone is only my mobile computer, not my main one so I tend to use it for only a little light browsing or for plex on the go. I dread to think of how much data I use on my PC.

12gb limit, usually use around 3-5gb, stream music in the car but don't drive a lot, wifi at home, wifi at work.

I don't watch things on my phone, I cast them to the TV.

It's usually when I'm lying on my side in bed before I go to sleep, I'll just watch a few vids.

Same here. I sometimes watch a YouTube video while I'm waking up and I watch YouTube at the gym when I have no other options. Luckily I don't have to use loads of data on my phone.

But why do you watch YouTube at home on your phone? Do you not have a TV?
Personally, I do it as I can watch stuff on my phone in bed, with headphones, without waking up my Wife, as well as around the house whilst doing cooking, making packed lunches or other chores. But that's all on wifi. Don't get a good enough data connection at home to even reliably browse websites, let alone watch video.
