*** The iOS 6 Thread *** ( with 6 Stars )

Google can develop all the apps they want but Apple allowing it into the app store is the main problem.

Why wouldn't they be allowed on the app store? I can't think of any apps that have been denied because they are competition for apples software.

Apple do have history in rejecting Google apps, although they've been a bit more accommodating recently. Relations between Apple and Google aren't exactly peachy right now.

Somewhat shockingly, the latest beta 4 of iOS6 has removed the built-in YouTube app completely, which could be a portent of things to come! Will they allow Google to offer a similar app via the store?

In all honesty I see the removal of the app in a bit of a positive light, it was extremely underpowered compared to what you can do on the mobile site.

In fact there was even a post on Cultofmac recently showing you how to disable the app to allow the mobile browser youtube to function in all it's glory.

EDIT: Google working on a standalone version apparently. http://vrge.co/O1zRul

It's been removed because the license expired. Apparently, Google are planning a stand-alone app for the App Store anyway. It's a no-news story :p

Would be interested in seeing if anything has been changed with the Maps app in comparison with the screenies I posted above :)

Can't update from beta 3 to 4 atm, it's saying to try again later as its not working or something tried since it was announced yesterday :/
